As the king's chariot approached the grand gates of Hastinapur, adorned with regal banners and drawn by majestic horses, the anticipation within the bustling city reached a fevered pitch. The people lined the streets, eager to catch a glimpse of their King Pandu, and their Queen Kunti.

The air was filled with the sweet fragrance of flowers scattered along the route to palace. The citizens, dressed in vibrant garments cheered, showing their happiness and welcoming the couple, who looked just as resplendent as Indra and Indrani.

The royal family, donned in opulent attire, stood at the palace entrance, ready to receive the couple. They all stood with a pleased smiles on their faces.

Reaching the premises of the palace, the chariot came to a halt, Pandu descended down first, and then with a warm smile, extended his hand to Kunti, helping her gracefully descend from the vehicle.

Kunti, dressed in resplendent silk garments adorned with intricate jewelry, exuded grace and charm. The couple stood side by side, a vision of regality that captivated the onlookers.

The palace courtyards echoed with the sounds of musicians playing joyful tunes, and dancers twirled gracefully to celebrate the union of their King and Queen.

Pandu guided Kunti towards the palace, their steps synchronized and purposeful. However, as they passed through the courtyard amidst the showers of flowers, Kunti's eyes were drawn to a majestic statue of the warrior goddess.

Stopping in front of the statue, Pandu looked at her and said, "Kunti, yeh hai-"

"Rajkumari Rameshwari." She said, recognising the most distinguished princess of Bharatvarsh.

Pandu smiled at her knowledge, "Ha. Ramsuta Rameshwari. Hume inhe naman karna chahiye."

Kunti nodded with a solemn smile, and then joined their hands. Both of them bowed before the tall statue of the warrior goddess, paying their respects to the embodiment of courage.

After their brief moment of reverence, Pandu and Kunti resumed their journey toward the palace. As they climb the stairs together with smiling faces, all the eyes remain glued to them.

"Vivah ki hardik shubhkamnaye Maharaj." Gandhari said and then took the sacramental plate from another maid, dipping her finger in the kumkum, she first put tilak over the forehead of Pandu and then on the forehead of Kunti.

And then with her smile faltering slightly, and her head lowering for being in the presence of the queen, Gandhari said, "Kuruvansh, Maharani ka swagat karta hai. Batayiye, hum aapki prasannata hetu kya kare ? Aap jo kahengi, wahi hoga."

With her eyes reflecting a deep appreciation and respect for her elder sister-in-law's kindness, Kunti joined her hands in respect.

"Sewa ka avsar pradaan kare, jiji." She said.

Listening to that Gandhari got surprised and raised her head with immense delight. A genuine smile appeared on her face and she reached out to caress the face of her sister-in-law.

"Dhanya ho tum, Kunti." Gandhari said.

Satyavati said, "Dhanya toh Kuruvansh hai, jise Kunti jaisi tejasvi Maharani praapt huyi hai."

"Satyavachan Mata." Ambalika said while Ambika nodded in approval.

Pandu smiled, as he glanced at his wife who had delighted the Kurus in just a few moments.

"Ab bado ka aashirwad le lijiye." Gandhari said.

Pandu and Kunti then went to the elders and bowed respectfully, seeking their blessings for a prosperous and harmonious union. The elders, in turn, bestowed their blessings upon the couple, wishing them happiness, fertility, and success in their rule.

However, as the last blessing was given, an air of tension settled in the place.

Bhishm said, "Ab jab tumhara vivah Shurasen ki putri ke saath ho chuka hai, Pandu, humari iccha hai ki tum ab Madra-raj ki putri se bhi vivah karlo."

A sudden frown appeared on Pandu's face, and the atmosphere grew tense. Kunti felt a pang of unease, for she had just entered the palace as his bride. The prospect of her husband taking another wife so soon after their marriage weighed heavily on her.

"Madra-raj ki putri ka saundarya iss prithvi par adwitiya hai. Uske yaha aane se, Kuruvansh ki shobha aur badh jaayegi." Bhishm said.

Pandu glanced at Kunti, a subtle worry crossed his eyes. The queen, her happiness momentarily dimmed, maintained a composed expression, concealing her inner turmoil.

"Tatshree uchit hi keh rahe hai." Dhritrashtra said.

Pandu looked at Vidur, "Tum kya kehte ho anuj ?"

"Mere anusaar hume andar chalna chahiye, pehle Maharani ka acche se swagat toh karle." Vidur suggested.

"Awashya." Bhishm said.

"Padharo." Satyavati said gesturing the couple to go inside.
