"Dilipsen ne Jarasandh ko parast kar diya !"

"Yuvraj Dilip dhanya hai !"

"Nahi, unhe paa kar Haiheyavansh dhanya hai !"

The streets of Avanti and the palace teemed with vibrant activity, abuzz with the electrifying news of the crown prince's triumphant return.

Within the confines of her chambers the wife of Dilip, Aarvi, found herself consumed by a whirlwind of nerves, akin to a flock of butterflies fluttering relentlessly in the pit of her stomach.

Merely a month had passed since their sacred union, yet Dilip had been compelled to depart and confront the formidable forces of Magadh not long after their marriage. Now, as he returned triumphant, Aarvi offered her gratitude to the divine, uttering countless prayers of thanks, a thousand times over.

Her maids, graceful and nimble, flitted around her like ethereal beings, their delicate hands adorning her with opulent gold jewelry, intricate alta designs, and sumptuously colored silks. Aarvi, overcome with a timid excitement, sat in quiet anticipation, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue, as the maids skillfully weaved their enchantment.

"Yuvrani ke sajja mei koi kami nahi honi chahiye." Maharani Rajadhidevi entered the room with a smile on her face.

Seeing her Aarvi stood up and bowed, "Pranaam Maharani."

Rajadhidevi walked up to her and kept a hand on her shoulder, making her sit down.

"Devar ji ko apni patni sadev abhushano se susajjit pasand hai. Tabhi toh sab kehte hai, ki Avanti ki Yuvrani, Maharani se adhik gehne pehenti hai." She said with chuckle.

Aarvi looked down with flushed cheeks, having nothing to say, for it was all true.

As the final touches are put in place, Aarvi rises to her feet, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness

As the final touches are put in place, Aarvi rises to her feet, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness. She stands before the ornate mirror, taking in her reflection.

Suddenly, the sound of a bugle filled the air, announcing the return of the crown prince. Aarvi's heart raced with anticipation as she quickly rose from her seat, causing Rajadhidevi  and her maids to chuckle at her eagerness.

She rushed outside, her silken garments billowing behind her as she ran across the corridors of the palace. Finally, she caught sight of her husband, standing tall and proud, talking to the king Jayasen.

"Jarasandh ki sena kam pad gayi ?" Jayasen asked.

Dilip nodded, "Ha, Jyesht. Bich yudh mei unki ek tukdi ko Mathura bhej diya gaya."

And then melodious tinkling of her anklets reached his ears, his gaze instinctively shifted towards his beloved wife.

As their eyes met, a pleased smile spread across his face seeing her well ornamented from head to toe. The sight of her adorned with the most exquisite jewels had always stirred a profound affection within him.

Aarvi's internal sigh of relief echoed through her being as she beheld him unscathed. However, her reverie was abruptly shattered by the sound of Rajadhidevi clearing her throat. The Yuvrani's gaze shifted to Maharani, who gracefully extended the sacramental plate towards her.

A pang of embarrassment coursed through Aarvi as she realized, in her fervent eagerness to lay eyes upon him, she had carelessly forgotten the protocols to welcome him.

Taking the plate from Rajadhidevi, she looked at Dilip, who walked towards her with a smile on his face. She put a tilak on his face, sprinkling rice and flower petals over him.

"Yuvraj ka swagat hai." She said softly.

Seeing them like so, Jayasen and Rajadhidevi exchanged a knowing glance.

"Hum chalte hai." Jayasen said and left with Rajadhidevi, both of them suppressing their chuckles.

Now as they were left alone, Dilip encircled his arms around the wife. Walking ahead and taking her with him.

"Aapne aane mei itna samaye laga diya, Yuvraj." She said in a sad manner.

Dilip smiled, "Keval ek hafta laga hai, Aarvi."

Aarvi shifted her gaze, "Mere liye ek varsh jitna tha."

Dilip chuckled as he gently held the chin of his wife, making her look at him, "Iski bharpaayi hetu, hum Yuvrani ke liye upahaar laaye hai." He said with a grin.

Her curious gaze fixated upon him, her eyes brimming with intrigue, as he led her to the sacred vault where the spoils of war were meticulously safeguarded.

There were several sandooks amidst the heaps of gold coins, some were full of exquisite ornaments, others were full of precious gems. Another set of sandooks kept on the other side were full of expensive silken garments.

"Arya..." Aarvi tilted her head at him, "Aapne pehle se itne abhushan aur vastra diye hai. Ab iski kya awashyakta hai ?"

"Apni patni ko ratna-abhushano se susajjit karna toh mera adhikaar hai." Dilip smiled.

Aarvi shook her head, "Yuvraj, yadi mai varsh bhar pratyek din bhi naveen vastra-abhushan dharan Karu, tab bhi yeh purn nahi honge."

Dilip chuckled and he leaned towards her, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "Toh fir mere anusaar inn sabhi abhushano aur vastro ke liye ek uttaradhikarini honi chahiye."

Aarvi glanced at him, and playfully smacked his chest, "Sab pati apne patniyo se putra maangte hai, aur humare pati putri maang rahe hai."

Dilip sighed smilingly, "Vinda Anuvinda ke hote, putra kyu maangu ?"

"Chacha ho toh aapke jaisa." Aarvi chuckled.
