Alright, super sexual tension during her match with Xaden. And, he knows her little poisoning plan. Okay, great, she's humbled.
The writing style at times is something I can't get behind. "Get. Your. Dagger." This is meant to show his commanding attitude and tone, but can be shown in different ways. She uses this a lot throughout the book and I am honestly not a fan. Dialogue is tricky, maybe Yarros isn't sure how to show emotion through it yet.
Dain aggravated me in this chapter. They had a cute, touching moment, then he ruined it by going behind Violet's back to try to get her to leave. He's trying to be helpful and protective but it comes off as overbearing. She's getting annoyed with it, I'm getting annoyed with it. I am off team Dain more and more each meeting with him.
