I like the name for the deadly obstacle course, the Gauntlet. Cool, but I feel like I've seen it before. We're meeting more of the squad during their time training. Maybe we should have met some of them sooner than now, or gotten to know them better.
One of her squad mates dies in front of her falling off the obstacle course. We knew this was an outcome, death can't be an easy thing to see, but I don't feel like Violet's grief was justified. She wasn't close to Aurelie, at least not enough to be the person to burn her belongings.
more sexual tension with Xaden. It's almost too convenient they keep running into each other.
