Okay so more tension with Dain, is distance growing between them? There's been some context about their past friendship, and growing older and going to college will create some distance for sure, but I can't help but wonder who is creating this distance. Is he being overbearing, or is she understanding herself?
She outsmarted the Gauntlet by bending the rules, but not breaking them. Her scribe training comes into play once she recites the codex to give herself a break.
If she can't physically make it up the gauntlet, she will find other ways. But, can she be in a war if she isn't physically able to? I'm sure her training will help make her more fit, but will it be enough?
