*Flashback*

A day before the meeting

3rd person POV

Everyone is inside Ayanokouji's hotel room.

Aside from the CSD themselves.

Touma, Misaka, and Misaki are there.

As well as Ishigami under Shirogane's request as he too was all of a sudden caught in this conversation that he knows he shouldn't be in despite wanting to try and help Iino.

(A/N: We'll get to Shirogane and Ishigami's perspective on the conversation later on. This is the Toaru character focused perspective on the mission.)

Misaki: So, what did you bring us here for? I mean this place feels a little cramped, but it is a hotel room, so my expectations aren't quite that high.

Ayanokouji: Are you used to having private suites instead?

Misaki: Of course. Most hotels I go to usually are the fancier ones and I often get the private suites.

Misaka: Unfortunately, that's not the case right now princess. Can we just get this over with? What do you want to tell us Ayanokouji?

Ayanokouji: Let's see...

Ayanokouji: To tell you the truth. We aren't just ordinary people going for sightseeing.

Misaki: I guessed as much. That's why we did ask for your help since you guys seem interested in these incidents.

Ayanokouji: There's more to it than that. You see. Most of us here are working for a task force for the government.

Touma: Task force!?

Misaka: What kind?

Kaguya: One that involves dealing with problems that the police nor the government themselves can't deal with.

Ayanokouji: In short, we're part of an anti-criminal group known as the Classified Special Division.

Touma: Woah...honestly even I didn't expect that.

Misaka: Though I do find it odd. You guys are in your 20's I presume. How are you guys even working for the government or even be qualified to be part of a most likely secretive division working to deal with certain threats?

Ayanokouji: It's a long story but we are pretty much forced to be part of it since most of us should be in college by that point however we have problems that is too difficult to deal with based on our current skill set at that time and that was only just 2 years ago. The CSD hasn't even existed up until this year. Speaking of the CSD, I am its leader.

Misaki: I see now. So, this division is relatively very young.

Ayanokouji: Yes.

Misaka: So, what's the current track record?

Ayanokouji: We've technically only done one or two missions. I don't expect you guys to trust us fully, but you guys should at least put a little faith in spite of you guys thinking of us as complete strangers.

Misaka: I guess fair enough. Listen, I may not be a big fan of having to work with a certain someone but since you guys are pretty cool with me so I wouldn't mind helping you guys with whatever situation imaginable.

Ayanokouji: You sure?

Misaka: Do I look like someone that wants to back down from a challenge?

Ayanokouji: Very well then. I suppose this means that I can also tell you guys about our mission.
