One night before the mission
10:51 PM
Tokyo, Japan
Task Force base
3rd person POV
Ayanokouji was sitting on the bed while looking up on the report regarding the whereabouts of the base on an iPad.
The report that thanks to Blank triangulating the location of the base. They now have a shot at capturing Fyodor once and for all.
While reading up the report.
From behind...Kurumi was hugging him. Her arms around the Masterpiece as she was savoring the warm embrace she is giving him.
Kurumi: Shouldn't you be sleeping by now?
Ayanokouji: I was about to.
Kurumi: Still reading the same report? Aren't you getting a little tired from it?
Ayanokouji: I'm just making sure that we have all the facts in line.
Kurumi: What do you mean?
Ayanokouji: While it is good that we find what is allegedly Fyodor's base. I just have a strange feeling about it.
Kurumi: Why is that?
Ayanokouji: When you think about it. Don't you think it's a little too easy?
Kurumi: Hmm?
Ayanokouji: Given after what happened back at Mt. Fuji. It wouldn't be impossible to think that Fyodor might have something planned this time in case a scenario like this happens again.
Kurumi: Well, we are talking about the most dangerous terrorist in the world. Of course he'll likely be prepared against us this time. I thought you enjoy facing a difficult challenge.
Ayanokouji: I still do...I just find it strange. While I have been relying on my logic for a long time. I've been using my gut more often than usual. While it isn't like me to take a gamble and roll with it. It's something to consider. After all, I realized after going through these missions that cold logic isn't enough against unpredictable forces like Fyodor and especially Haru.
Kurumi: Hmm?
Ayanokouji: What?
Kurumi: I just find it fascinating. You used to go about things in a logical manner. Now, you seem to be relying on probabilities and other factors.
Ayanokouji: Do you find it as a bad thing?
Kurumi: I don't think so. I just thought that...
Ayanokouji: You think this sort of thinking is going to cost me at some point?
Kurumi: Not really. I mean that's not what-
Just then, they heard a knocking on the door.
The two of them looked at each other for a bit as Kurumi spoke up.
Kurumi: I'll go get it.
She quickly walked towards the door and opened it.
In front of her was Masakatsu Shiro as he shows up unannounced.
Kurumi: Ohh Masakatsu-kun. I didn't know you were still up.
Shiro: My apologies but I hope I'm not interrupting something.
Ayanokouji: Don't worry about it. Now...what do you want at this hour?
Shiro: Can we talk?
