Playing Monster by lady gaga

You didn't expect that did you? They never do really. Well you need to be more expecting. Expecting the unexpected. Expecting that they might just die. Expecting that fate prevails and that not all things are how they seem.

Things are always what you think.

To me? Theirs not much difference between that beast and humans.

To you they're monsters.

But to me?

They are still humans,

Physically

And most certainly mentally.

"Chan..?" Jeongin murmured through distressed sniffles. He could barely breathe, trying to push down the bile but he gave a small nod to the younger who sat close next to him. "Did you...were you close? To—to Heesung?"

The group collectively looked to chan, who had sunken to the floor, curled in a fetal position. The zombies had spread out by now, but they were still heightened on their nerves. No one really spoke after what that witnessed. It was almost damming to look out the window to the pile of flesh that was once a person.

Chan shook, letting out a wet sigh before clearing his throat and speaking quietly, "we weren't close. We had spoken on a few occasion to the point I could call him a friend. But..."

He didn't finish. Nor did they push him to. Jeongin laid his head on a hand shoulder, which was comforting for both of them in a way.

Hyunjin had laid himself of a gym mat, dizzy as he stared at the roof. He had thrown up after the sight, now trying to erase any memory in his mind. Minho was next him, trying to distract himself with a small ball that he had taken as a stress ball. He couldn't let his Anxiety spike again. He just wouldn't be able to deal.

Seungmin was sat against the metal wall, shivering every time he closed his eyes because he could see his mind replay it over and over. He put on a stoic face though, he would show that it affected him.

Jisung was no better, gagging every now and then from where he was next to Felix. His nose was scrunched up and he was pale. He could feel the nausea rise but he held it down, a slight fear of throwing up still lingering in his mind. Felix sat almost disassociated as he was the only one who watched from start to finish. He couldn't figure out why he couldn't look away, like a moth to a flame, his eyes were stuck in the scene even though he wanted to die watching. And now? He felt it was better to disassociate than live with that memory in this current moment.

Lastly Changbin was pale, sickly so but he wasn't as effected as the rest. He stayed sickly calm, swallowing an unfamiliar emotion, no not fear? But he couldn't decipher it yet.

"We need another plan." He said. He was sure that their hope was eaten along with Heesung but he could let them fall into that kind of mentality.

"We have no hope to survive. Did you see that thing?!" Hyunjin remarked, his voice watery with emotion as he kept his eyes on ceiling. The group knew he was speaking all of their thoughts."The movies never said anything about super zombies."

If they weren't in such a situation, they would have taken that as humour. But he was deadly serious, face sullen with vulnerability that mirror the rooms mood. Jeongin sniffled at the mention of the best, curling more into himself.

"We can't give up hope. We can survive we just need a solid plan." Changbin reasoned, he refused to die like this.

"I don't know how we fucked it up so bad. We were so close." Felix spoke, voice cracking as silent tears threatened to stream down his cheeks but he blinked them away.

"I don't want to die." Minho coughed out, knuckles white as he squeeze on the ball. He released a thick breath that was clogged with awaiting tears.

"Then we need to get out of here." Seungmin murmured, hesitantly getting up to look out the window.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Jisung hummed, swallowing around his dry throat. His eyes followed Seungmins movements, watching as the other shivered at the sight out the window. He didn't listen, his eyes searching for any exits that may present themselves.

"Is there any ways you can think of that we can leave through?" He let his eyes roam, purposely missing the corpse scattered on the path. What made it more stomach churning was the few zombies that still stayed chewing on his limbs.

"I have no idea. That was my only exit." Felix said, picking at his nails as he tried to recall pathways out.

"For now I think we should rest. Mentally and physically." Chan offers, bringing and arm to hold Jeongin better who is practically falling asleep from exhaustion.

"But we can't stay for too long or we are food." Seungmin huffed in annoyance, sitting back down with a thump. The group feel conflicted whether to rest or immediate find a way to leave.

"You saw that thing outside. It's not smart to leave now. We need to wait till it leaves." Minho turned from his stare at the wall. They did agree with that, they couldn't risk that beast coming back.

"So we wait till it leaves?" Jeongin mumbles sleepily, rubbing his eyes.

"We wait til it leaves then we follow after." Chan supplies, giving a slightly more confident glance towards Changbin, who nods in agreement.

AN:

Sorryyy it's short. I'm very tired and I was struggling with writers block for a while. God why is being tired such a disease? If it was I'd have a diagnostic for life.💀

But frrrr I'm so tired.
Let me take a moment to ask how are
You? How was your day?
Are you eating and sleeping ok? If not then know this is a safe space to be yourself and speak you're mind. For those who don't have that space know it can be here whenever you need it. No one deserves to be unheard and bottled up on emotions. Xx
