Everything was going oh so well.

Wasn't it?

You thought a bit of heavy rain was the end of terrible luck?

Oh......?

Well then.

Prepare.

It will hurt.

Everything seemed fine. He seemed perfectly fine. The dancing and playing in the rain like they were children only seemed to last so long. Because they weren't children. Life wasn't carefree. Life was fucked up if not, it was never going to be the same again. Neither would they ever have the innocence they once had children.

So when they reached the city, hopes were higher than the rainbow that formed in the sky. Zombies lurked but most were stumbling around, easy for the group to take out.

What was the plan? Find any survivors. Look for the people who meant most to them. (Even if most doubt they had that.)

But then things slowed down. Things slowed and they couldn't help but wonder. Wonder what was wrong.

Because one second he was with them, running and sliding around in the mud. The next he was face down in the grass, skin pale and body limp.

It was a second between Seungmin letting go to adjust his bag and turning, for him to collapse. The sound of bags dropping and the thud of a body hitting the ground hard had the group frozen.

It was actually Jeongin who noticed first, eyes widening in a mix of emotions when he saw the scene. His heart sped up, a ring in his ear like everything had gone silent. It had in a simple second.

Then it was Minho, heart completely stopping from fear. Fear of what?

Fear of the fallen becoming one of them.

Chan was the first to move, yelling out his name as he rushed over. Then Changbin was beside him, face paling but not as pale as the body that lay in the short grass.

Jisung ran close but his eyes were kept busy on any movement from the creatures that still lurked by. His eyes were sharp, narrowed as his senses heightened.

Hyunjin gasped, fear swirling up his spine like the familiar feeling of dread that sunk into his stomach and tore him open.

What had happened?

Felix had fallen.

And he didn't get back up.

"WATCH OUT!" Jisung yelled to chan, just as a zombie jumped out at the blonde. Chan was too concerned over Felix he didn't catch onto the creature lurking behind the wall. Their location was already compromised. They weren't in any area. They were in a grassy area beside a few small building at the front of the city.

Chan turned, fear spiking in his heart as he saw just how close the creature was. He clocked back his gun, just in time as the monster launched itself on top of him. Everything now speed up. A little too fast for the others to react as Jisung had when he had yelled.

The blonde managed to catch his gun in the mouth of the beast, his barrel the only thing keeping its mouth busy as it was lodged between the yellow teeth and bloodied lips. He let out a terrified yell as he set the gun off, closing his eyes just as the gun shot, shooting a large hole through its mouth to the back of its head. A mix of brain and blood splattered, its eyeball dislodging in its socket from the force of the blow. Another nudge and it would fall out of the socket and onto Chan's face.
