Chapter 14- The Avengers

A/N this might look like another long chapter as it has 2663 words but there was just a lot of googling, I promise it isn't too long. But I won't be posting tomorrow as I haven't started the next chapter yet.

3rd Person POV

It had been 6 years since Peter had became Spider-Man but there had been some strange moments since what happened after the Lizard incident.

*2008 may* (Peter is 16 then)

Peter had just came into his college dorm room after his patrol which he was struggling to do because of the school work so any time he could go out and patrol he would.

Peter walked into his dorm's living room and seen Ned in there watching TV and it was a press conference of someone but he couldn't see who it was about.

"Pete come look at this" Ned shouted over towards Peter, and Peter started to walk over, and seen an African American military veteran standing up on stage explaining something that he didn't pay attention to.

"Why are you watching this?" Peter asked Ned confused

"Did you not hear about the attack last night?" Ned asked him which Peter snapped his head right round to face Ned after he heard the word 'attack'

"I'll take that as a no, there was a fight between two Iron people but one of them was a hero and the other was the bad guy, the good one is called Iron-Man and the other one was someone who called Obadiah Stane who was died by an explosion in Stark industries and apparently Tony Stark is rumoured to be Iron-Man." Ned explains to Peter

"So people are saying Tony Stark is Batman." Peter says half jokingly

They then started to see the billionaire, Tony Stark himself, go up stage and James Rhodes, the veteran stood back behind him.

'Uh been awhile since I was in front of you, I figure I'll stick to the cards this time.' Tony says which made the crowd laugh

'There's been speculation that I was involved in the events that occurred on the freeway and the rooftop-' Tony Stark for interrupted by a reporter in the crowd.

'I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but do you honestly expect us to believe that that was a bodyguard in a suit that conveniently appeared, despite the fact that you-' This time he interrupted her

'I know that it's confusing. It is one thing to question the official story, and another thing entirely to make wild accusations, or insinuate that I'm a superhero.'

'I never said you were a superhero.'

"Oh won't you look at these lovebirds." Peter says which made Ned chuckle

'Didn't? Well, good, because that would be outlandish and fantastic. I'm just not the hero type. Clearly. With this laundry list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public.' Tony started to talk but then his best friend, Rhodey, leaned into his ear and whispered something and he just nodded and turned away

"What has this press conference turned into?" Ned asks confused

"No idea pal." Peter replied and started to drink his water

'The truth is... I am Iron Man.'

Peter instantly spat his water out of his mouth while Ned just was sat there staring at the TV not moving.

After both of them recovered from pure shock they two of them only had one thing they could get out.

"What the F-"

Peter walked out of his dorm room and seen Ned in the living room again and seen he was watching the News.
