The shining sun wakes me up from my deep sleep. Himala't, I don't have any morning sickness. Today is the day of my appointment with my OB-GYN, that's why I woke up early. As usual, I'm alone.
Nag unat ako nang katawan, inayos ko yung higaan ko. I just took a shower and brushed my teeth, then I had oatmeal for breakfast. I just wore an off-shoulder black dress. At hindi kataasang sandals
Pa-palabas ako nang harangin ako ni Caleb, ano nanaman ba kailangan nito. Lagi nalang
"Wala kang kasama?" He looked at me as he spoke, his voice was filled with curiosity.
"Hindi ba halata? bakit may nakikita ka bang hindi ko na kikita?" Pilosopong sagot ko
"Bakit hindi mo sinabing pupunta ka sa OB mo?"
"Para saan?" Irap ko.
He instantly noticed my annoyed reaction to his comment, "I'm just saying that maybe you should have told me if you were going to see your OBGYN."
"Oo na, wala ako sa mood makipag ingles-ingles sa'yo, masakit sa ulo ngayon, as in!" Inis na sabi ko
"Well, I'm not in the mood for you to be giving me attitude." His voice was filled with annoyance, even the smallest things I said were starting to get on his nerves.
"Gusto mo ba na hindi kita i-sama?!" Parang may kung anong kumukulo sa kalamnan ko
"I'm not gonna force you to let me join you, but I'm still coming."
He seemed amused by my sudden outburst of anger, he couldn't help but smile slightly before he continued. "Besides, it's not like you would have been fine going alone."
"Conyo ako pero minsan ansakit na sa ilong kaka ingles mo, naiinis ako sa'yo sa presensya mo, gusto kong kurutin 'yang singit mo!"
Caleb looked at me for a few seconds before he burst out into laughter, "Are you sure that's the right thing to do? Hitting the father of your baby?" He teased me, his smile getting wider as he took pleasure in my annoyance.
"Fa..Father of my baby?" Hindi ko mapigilang maging emosyonal, iniwas ko ang aking mga mata at pa sikretong pinunasan ang mata ko.
"May prob--" Hinatak ko ito papalabas nang bahay niya, para hindi niya na ako tanungin pa nang kung ano ano.
"Okay, let's go."
He smiled softly as he put the car into drive, waiting for me to get into the passenger seat.
Umupo ako sa passenger seat, hindi ko magawang mag salita. Walang nag tangkang basagin ang katahimikan sa loob nang sasakyan. Sa mahabang byahe namin ay napuno ito nang katahimikan, nang makarating kami ay malalaking hakbang ang ginawa ko pa-pasok. As usual marami ang naka tingin, hindi ko alam kung sakin o sa lalaking nasa likuran ko.
Pag pasok ko ay sinalubong agad ako nang OB-GYN ko. My OB-GYN warmly welcomed me as I entered. Her kind smile and reassuring presence eased my nerves, reminding me that I was in good hands. We exchanged pleasantries, and she asked me about how I've been feeling during my pregnancy.
"May nag papa stressed ba sa'yo, Ms. Harrison?" Tanong nito, bigla ko naman tini-tigan si Caleb na nakaupo sa gilid, pahiwatig na siya ang nag bi-bigay stressed sakin
As I sat down in the examination room, my mind was filled with a mix of emotions. The reality of being pregnant and the uncertainty of what lay ahead weighed heavily on my heart. But knowing that I had a supportive healthcare provider by my side gave me a sense of comfort and reassurance.
During the check-up, my OB-GYN carefully listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. She conducted various tests and measurements to monitor the progress of my pregnancy. Hearing the sound of my baby's heartbeat for the first time filled me with overwhelming joy and a deep sense of connection.
Pag tapos nang check-up ay may kaunting awareness lang ang OB ko na kailangan kong sunurin. "Ms. Harrison, iwas stressed ah? And also normal lang po sa pag bu-buntis na mood swings ka, o may kaunting pag i-iba sa ugali mo, madalas kang magiging bad mood" Singhal nito
Tumango ako, napapansin ko rin kasi ang pag babago sa mood ko, dahan-dahan akong tumayo nakita ko naman na biglaan ang pag tayo ni Caleb at inalalayan ako.
"Narinig mo ba 'yung sinabi ni doc?" Tanong ko sakanya
"Sabi niya, iwasan ang stressed eh ikaw ang nag bi-bigay stressed sakin. Pano ba 'yan, kiti-kiti ka?! Paano kita maiiwasan eh para kang linta"
He couldn't help but laugh "So that's how it is huh?"
"Nagugutom ako" Tugon ko sakaniya
"You're always hungry, huh? Okay, we can get something to eat before going home." He turned around, ready to start walking back towards the car.
Ginayuma ko ba siya...Bakit ang bait niya o baka sabi nung doktora naririnig nang baby ko lahat nang sinasabi ni Caleb, kaya hindi na siya harsh sakin?!
He opened the car door for me before he walked around to the driver's side, getting in behind the wheel."What do you want to eat? I'll drive us there right now."
Nakatulala ako at puno nang pag i-isip kaya ilang segudo bago ako naka sagot sa tanong niya "Ah...Ano, McDonald's nalang" Utal-utal kong sambit
"McDonald's it is then, we can head there right now."
He started the car and began to drive, as he drove he noticed that I were still looking quite weary and tired. "You alright?"
"Oo" Tipid na sagot ko
"Okay, but try to take it easy okay?"
He kept his eyes on the road, his tone was softer now, and he seemed to be putting his emotions aside for now. He was only focused on making sure that I were feeling well and that I were comfortable.
Tahimik na nagmaneho si Caleb papunta sa McDonald's, Mga ilang minuto lang ay naka rating na kami. Nag-park lang siya ng kotse at bumaba.
Inalalayan ako ni Caleb papasok sa restaurant, medyo nahihiya ako dahil napansin komg iilang tao ang tumitingin saamin habang pa-papasok kami. Hindi ko alam kung bakit lahat sila'y nakatingin sa amin, ngunit hindi ko iyon gustong masyadong isipin.
Naglakad si Caleb patungo sa counter at nag-order ng pagkain para sa aming dalawa. Habang naghihintay ako sa order, Nakita kong lumingon si Caleb sakin at tiningnan ako.
I decided on a couple of burgers and some fries. Same lang din sa order ni Caleb, gaya-gaya talaga itong lalaking 'to. He paid for the food and sat down at a nearby table, waiting for me before he begin to eat.
The sound of my munching noises broke the silence, with each bite I took.
"Ang ingay mo kumain" Tawang sabi ko, kahit ako naman talaga 'yung maingay kumain
He chuckled as he noticed that I am actually the louder eater, yet I am also the one who had the guts to call him out. He couldn't help feeling amused by the whole situation. The entire time I am eating, he is just watching me, his lips curling into a half-smile as I stuffed my face with the fries and burger.
"Bakit ka ngumingiti?" Kunot noong tanong ko
"Hm? Oh, nothing, it's just funny watching you eat." He replied, trying to pass it off as nothing special, but the teasing grin wouldn't leave his face.
"Thank you dito ah" Sambit ko sabay taas nang burger
"Eh, no problem at all." He nodded in response and continued to sit across from me, his mouth curling into a half-laugh.
