"yes, only two." shoko had replied for you, her expression saddened as she brought the news over to you.

the dots in your head connected slowly, where there were first four first year students were now only two present. you had no idea what happened to the other two and who these two were.

your eyes widened as you realized what had possibly happened, before you had time to overthink about possible scenarios you heard your previous doctor speak up.

he took a step into the infirmary, the tension in the room was thick. "kugisaki nobara has been pronounced dead." he informed you, his voice lingering with the slightest bit of sadness.

it was silent, you heard the curtains sway in the wind and the slight rustling of the leaves outside. a few birds chirped occasionally as you heard the news of your friends passing.

you were unable to process the information, it just didnt make sense to you, she was right there, you remember when you bid her farewell with nitta. she looked fine, it would be too soon.

still remembering the entire situation in the metro station, you didnt believe it, it couldnt have been the truth.

your brown haired companion spoke up before you departed, "dont die yet, i still need you." she said with a smile on her face.

her words were as clear as day in your head, you could recall her voice entirely, every tone she had made in that sentence, that voice could not have been gone.

you smiled in return, "i would never." you spoke up, joking with her.

it couldnt have been right, 'there was a mistake...' you thought as your mind was in heavy denial while you remained silent, you couldnt let out a word, you didnt know what was happening.

you parted your lips, wanting to deny her death, "no... she cant be..." you said without much expression in your voice, it just didnt make sense to you. "i saw her." you tried to cope for yourself, raising your voice and immediately feeling the impact in your throat.

both doctors saw you were in the first stage of grief, denial. they looked saddened as this was the only case out of many they had reported yet.

kaito saw your state, he knew from his psychological experience that it can be difficult to stay in that state and decided to break the silence.

he looked at you, "no response to verbal stimuli,
no respiratory effort over 5 minutes of observation... no palpable carotid pulse and no heart sounds were noted over 2 minutes of auscultation." kaito said as he broke the silence.

the words were factual proof of the entire situation. it seemed like your mind and body were seperate as you felt tears streaming down your face.

you didnt know why you were crying, nobara wasnt dead right? you were still in denial as you realized unconsciously that she had passed.

tears scattered over your cheeks, streaming down the line of your oxygen mask as you noticed your vision become more blurry than usual.

you felt a lump in your throat, you couldnt speak up as you heard what happened, the pace of your breathing fastened significantly as time passed on.

looking back at the situation you remembered every word she had said to you, her final words echoed into your head, repeating over and over.

how much you wished you told her the same, you wanted to tell her the same she told you, "dont die too." you wished you said those words, regret building up in you. you overthought to yourself as your breath hitched.

maybe it would have made a difference, maybe not, your entire face was covered with uncomfortable tears that slowly slipped under your oxygen mask.

shoko saw your saddened state and bend over to lower herself to you, she reached out with her hands towards the mask and undid it for you, making the situation slightly more comfortable for you as she saw your struggle.

you need time to process everything, but this was nothing compared to what kaito would tell you.

"itadori yuuji." he spoke up, only saying the name of your other comrade, one of the other first years. "is not considered a first year student at jujutsu tech anymore." he spoke with compassion in his voice.

the answers and information you got only gave you more questions. this time shoko spoke up for you, making sure the information would be as empathic as possible.

"after sukuna had taken over itadoris body the higher ups have decided to... execute him." she said, she found it difficult too, the entire situation.

upon hearing the news of itadori you entered a state of shock, first nobara and now yuuji as well. your head hurted, you didnt feel like yourself anymore as the tears kept on coming with no end in sight, chaos was overtaking you.

it all happened so fast, what had he done? you needed answers as you let the information about itadoris execution process, the tears continuing to fall, staining your pillow beneath your head.

"in 27 days from now." kaito spoke up, giving you more vision on the situation. you were entirely against it the second you heard about it, you wanted to scream, yell, break things but you couldnt, your body was too weak.

you wanted to know what had happened, how it happened, everything. you needed to know everything.

it was mentally too much for you, luckily you knew inumaki was safe, you saw him get treated by the school doctor yourself. he just had to be there was no other choice, you wouldnt accept another outcome.

but your mind was set on something else, you needed to know about the last first year, you wanted to make he didnt end up like them as well.

"and fushiguro...?" you breathed out, your voice as low as a whisper but still audible for both doctors.

shoko immediately answered for you, wanting to mean as much as she can to you, "alive and awake." she said as she nodded at you.

"he was in crucial condition but sukuna had healed him." she spoke up, giving you a small summary of what had happened.

his existence didnt stop your crying, the fact he was still with you didnt stop your tears from overflowing out your eyes. you were still in denial as you were unconsciously relieved about megumi.

you didnt even know where to start, you didnt know what to ask or even how to speak up as your breath was hitching in your throat, your chest rising and falling irregularly.

shoko noticed your shaken state, she understood you. she exchanged glances with kaito and he got the hint, leaving the room and slowly closing the door of the infirmary again, making sure not to make much sound.

the taller woman got a chair and seated next to your bed, she looked at you empathically as she let you cry.

it took minutes but she had the patience, the moment she saw your tears lessen she hesitated for a little, her lips parting but not being able to say anything.

she furrowed her brows, not knowing where to start but spoke nonetheless. "the moment you had passed out with okkotsu..." she spoke softly, trying not to shake you up.

she continued speaking, explaining to you what had happened to everyone during the shibuya incident.
