Chapter 25
Harry's POV

I was excited to get to spend the entire day with Stevie. I worked overnight so that I could prepare for a special day with her, and by special I mean just sitting in bed watching movies to pass the day along. Although, any second I got to spend with my sunshine was special. It didn't matter what we were doing, as long as I was with her.

I was caressing her hair with my hand, as we snuggled together and watched a movie. I was a bit tired because of my long night, so I didn't mind the more relaxed nature of our day. Plus, Stevie was still recovering from some of her chemo side effects today, so she needed the rest regardless. It was hard to see her in pain, but my baby girl always stayed in good spirits.

As her dad I'm supposed to be the one holding it together, but it feels like she's that lifeline for me more than anything else.

"That's so silly" Stevie giggled at the TV, her voice quiet, but her laugh was prominent.

"So silly" I agreed with her, even though my eyes were rarely on the screen. They were mostly watching Stevie.

"I'm hungry daddy" Stevie let me know.

"Let me call up some food for you" I immediately reached for the phone to call and order a meal for her. The fact that she wanted to eat was a good thing, it meant she was starting to feel better again.

"Mac and cheese" Stevie nodded assuredly, my way of knowing that any other food option was not going to be allowed.

"Alright" I put the phone to my ear and waited a few minutes. As Stevie continued to watch her show, I tried not to grimace at the annoying ass hold music that hospital had put me on. We really should change it.

When it finally stopped, a very cheerful man answered the phone. His chirpy voice radiated through the phone, loudly filling my ears, and I pulled the phone away and made a face as he continued rattling off his long hello.

"I just need some mac and cheese to 4004" I cut him off, I was halfway listening to his intro in the first place. I don't know what he had to say that was taking so long, but I didn't care.

"Oh, I'm sorry. We're actually out of mac and cheese right now sir"

"You've got to be shitting me" I exhaled in annoyance. After all that yapping and we don't even have mac and cheese?

"I'm sorry sir. I can serve chicken nuggets, a hamburger, grilled cheese, corn dog, salad, mashed p-"

"It's Dr. Styles" I corrected. "And you can actually walk your happy ass down to the nearest store and then serve me some mac and cheese"

"I apologize Dr. Styles" He said quickly, making me roll my eyes. "But I'm afraid I can't do that"

"I'd be more afraid if you don't" I huffed.

"Uhm" I could practically see him gulp. "Yes, um. Let me see what I can do. I'll call you back"

"Dandy" I put the phone on the receiver.

"Dr. Styles?" Lainey poked her head in. It was like I was having déjà vu from a few days ago when she told me about the apartment explosion.

"Oh what is it now? Train tracks derailed? Airplane crash? A bomb?" I threw my hands up.

"Baby won't start breathing after birth" She rushed out.

"We're in a damn hospital and no one can get a baby to start crying?!" I immediately stood up. I was annoyed I had to leave Stevie, but I obviously was going to go help the baby.
