Halfway towards the elevator the cybercat suddenly stopped, twitched his ears, listened, and then, as if by chance, suggested:
"Maybe we should take the stairs, huh?" and not waiting for reaction, he turned right at the intersection of two corridors.
Of course, there were stairs between decks on the ship, but the crew members mostly preferred to use elevators. It wasn't hard to guess: there was someone ahead, and Ravage wanted to avoid unnecessary random encounters, Megatron understood this. Who knows, maybe this Legislator, who is now following on his heels most of the time, is hanging out there.
"So where are we going to?" the leader asked again as calmly as possible. He never liked surprises.

"To the bay where our recent finding is now stored." Ravage, who was leading him, didn't even raise his head.
They had already reached the stairs and were now descending to the lower level. It was a little darker here, small round lamps the size of Megatron's fist were all along the ceiling in a long chain.
"Why?"
"When we get there, I'll tell you."
Megatron didn't argue – he was interested himself. And here and now, a showdown with Ravage, who has decided to play a spy, can only attract the unwanted Autobots' attention on this ship.
They walked down two more flights of stairs and found themselves in the same wide, illuminated corridor as almost everywhere else. Megatron knew that there was a weapons depot here, as well as Perceptor and Brainstorm's laboratory... And for some reason, Megatron had a feeling that they were heading there, although he didn't know exactly where the Key was currently kept.
"Wait." The cybercat suddenly ordered and pointed up at the video camera under the ceiling. Megatron knew that almost the entire ship was stuffed with them, a recording was being made, but Rodimus didn't consider it necessary to view the material. "Just in case, it's better not to risk." Using magnets built into his paws, the cybercat quickly reached the detecting device along the wall and redirected the lens upward to the ceiling, then almost silently jumped to the floor and announced with satisfaction: "Now good."
"Yeah." Megatron grinned at this.
Ravage did the same with two more cameras, and now both mechs stood in front of a closed door with the sign 'Laboratory 202'. The four-legged Decepticon quickly typed a combination of buttons on the side panel on the right, and the passage opened in front of them with a quiet hiss. The room was light, but apparently empty.
"Here we are," the cybercat announced and was the first to slip through the open door.
