"You know, you actually are pretty neat to hang out, Wally." I said as we were both finishing our coffees.
"Why thank you, I say I say." He said with a smile, I smiled back before staring up at the Hell sky again. "Hey, I've noticed you keep looking at the sky. More then I've seen anyone. Is something wrong?" He asked as he tossed our cups into the trash can we walked by.
"I just had a very bad argument with my dad. He told me things, that I don't know if they're true or not. I just can't figure it out. Also he called me something that hurt." I told him.
"What did he tell you?" He asked, I could hear the tone shift in his voice. Also I noticed he wasn't saying "I say I say" as much anymore.
"He told me hellhounds at the adoption center get put down when we come of age.. That can't be true!.. Why would anyone allow that?.. Aren't we Hell citizens too?.." I felt my voice cracking as my throat began to sting.
"It might be true, but who's to say it is? I haven't heard of that happening once. But all hellhounds normally get adopted by one family or another. Rarely any stay long enough to find out. I say I say.." Wally said with a small shrug. I gave a small amused snort before smiling at him.
"You know, screw what Blitzo says. You're pretty awesome." I told him.
"Well, that's quite the compliment! I say I say! I'm sure surprised you called him Blitzo! I thought no one allowed him to call him that anymore!" Wally said with a laugh. I chuckled.
"He can't follow all of us everywhere. But even then, I'm pretty sure he just dropped the O in his name to try and forget about his past. But our past is what shapes us for the future. We can't change it. And no matter how it hurts, we shouldn't forget it. I mean that's how I met my best friend, Vortex." I softly sighed.
"Well, some of our pasts can be more painful then others. It's hard to predict what's going to happen until we go through it. I'm sure it wasn't good for you at that orphanage." Wally said, I sighed and nodded.
"It was horrible. I hated every day there. But that's where I met Vortex. And someone else.. Who I feel like she betrayed me.. We were supposed to get adopted together. She promised me. But she left me behind the day she got adopted." I shook my head, wiping away my tears.
"Sometimes getting others adopted isn't as easy as it may seem." Wally said, I huffed softly.
"Yeah, but we were meant to be a pair. Either adopted together or not at all. And she broke that pact.. She left me at that orphanage.. I was lucky I was adopted at all. I needed to get out of there and she left me there anyways." I growled, wiping my tears again.
"Sounds like you went through.. Hell! I say I say!" Wally broke out laughing. I began laughing too before gently punching his shoulder.
"You are so horrible! That was so bad!" I laughed, my tail even wagging.
I haven't felt this happy in a while. I do miss home though.. Couch crashing at Bee's is alright. But I miss THIS.. Fun without constantly worrying what dad is going to think! I miss dad.. I hope he's fine. He's been more snappy and angry after getting that scar over his eye. But I think it makes him look badass! Too bad he hates it.. I wonder if I'll see him again anytime soon? Maybe he'll apologize for calling me.. That.. I love you dad, and I do miss you.. But we do need to spend time apart.. It's healthy..
"Well, I say I say! Everyone in Hell is bound to be horrible! But luckily for you, you got me!" He laughed. I laughed too.
"Yes! Indeed! Luckily for me! I got the least-worse imp that's been to the Greed Ring! How was it working for Mammon when you did?" I asked.
"Oh, it was alright, more boring then anything, I say I say." He waved his hand slightly.
"I can imagine, I never really liked Mammon. Just the way he looks at me makes me want to shiver my fur off and hide in the pile. Bleh.." I shivered a bit, my tail slightly curling so it'd be off the ground.
"I think he likes just how feisty you are. He's always kind of had a knick for that. I say I say." Wally said.
"Then why wasn't he interested in Blitzo being rude toward him?" I asked.
"Probably because he employed Fizzarolli. They were both imps after all. And technically speaking, hellhounds are lower classed then imps. So someone so low being so disrespectful and feisty might've just caught his attention a bit more! You are Hell-a feisty! I say I say!" He laughed. I had to hold back my laughter as I smiled and looked away.
"Alright! No more Hell-puns! They're starting to get really bad! If you tell one more I swear I'm going to just walk the other way!" I said with a small chuckle.
"Oh, come on! You know you want to go to this fair as much as I do, I say I say!" Wally said as he softly elbowed me in the side. I rolled my eyes as I smiled a bit more.
Satan's tail he knows he's right! I need this fair! I've been so bored without anything much to do! And maybe I can see him.. Dad hates him for being a royal.. But he's nothing like them. He's my friend.. He's always been my friend.. Nothing will change that.
"Fine. You know you're right." I huffed at Wally as we walked into the fair.
"Hello Hoco.." Said the male voice beside me.
