Episode 9- Die But Once

Mercedes wrote in her song book.

Changed into a red silk robe for the night—her hair pinned up.

That stop of her pen as she started thinking. Legend said he needed her to come up with a song that would shake things up like the family needed. It needed to be something that said his family was back in full force and coming to stay.

Everybody always said what they thought gospel music should be but she started to believe it was something you felt. Just like all music. It could branch to different directions so long as your intentions were pure.

Legend came down wearing a tank and pair of pants.

"How did you make it down here before me?"

"Some of us actually went in the shower to take one." Mercedes simply says.

"I took one earlier."

"So what did you interrupt mine for?"

Legend raised both brows. "Did I not make my intentions clear when I joined you? Sounded like it."

Mercedes stops in mid writing to give him a look. That smirk from him made her eyes roll hard.

"Don't be like that." Legend walked around to her.

"Keep your hands off me man." Mercedes pointed and seen his grin grow. "Legend."

"Hm."

"Hm, nothing. You heard me" Legend touched her hand that pointed at him and held it to his chest. "Are you listening to me?"

"I always listen to you."

"I get we just had sex so that mind might be on other things—but don't lie."

Legend laughs and pulled her close—kissing the top of her head. "Love you too, Mama."

Mercedes pushed him away—he smiles walking back over to the fridge.

"I already told you I love you."

"I remember when you said it, right under me."

Mercedes pen dragged by mistake making him snicker. "You are not funny, you see I'm writing!"

"Give me a break, there was a point of time I didn't touch you in that way."

"Yeah, and you had me thinking something was wrong with me."

"Have no idea why that ever crossed your mind." He took out a water. "I never said anything like that."

"I felt friend zoned." Mercedes admits.
