The first thing I noticed after I opened my eyes was the color. Everything was white. Bright freaking white. It was blindingly bright - obnoxiously bright. It hurt to keep my eyes open, but every time I tried to close them someone shouted to my left. Why are they being sooo loud? Are they crazy?

As my eyes adjusted, more came into view. First I noticed everything was sterile, like a hospital, meaning I was most likely in one. Secondly, I noticed that the insanely loud individual to my left was indeed Riley, am I surprised? Not at all.

"Geez!" I tried to say, coming out more like a gagging sound, I needed water. Thank the goddess that Riley seemed to understand that and gave me a glass. I practically chugged it and Riley refilled it four times, all the while chuckling. "How long have I been out?" I asked him.

Riley instantly grew serious, all previous laughter and smile lines had vanished from his handsome face. Wait, did I just say handsome? Sure, I thought he was but I never really thought about him like that.... Before I could ponder this any further Riley answered my question, "You've been out for a whole week Cass. You scared the crap out of us all, mostly me though." He gave me a sad smile. "Promise me you'll never do that again!" He said in a dead serious voice. I nodded and he visibly relaxed.

"Ri, I never meant to scare you. What exactly happened anyways?" I questioned.

"Cass, you d- d," He was cut off by the doctor that walked in.

"I see you are finally awake then." This guy was too chipper. He was already getting on my nerves. He was a tall, blading man, with gray hair, and round harry potter glasses. He looked like a scientist in his perfectly clean and pristine lab coat, complete with the clipboard he was carrying. Everything about him just agitated me, and put my wolf on edge a little. I think it's just because I woke up and have a killer migraine, and here this guy is all happy-go-lucky. Not okay.

"Obviously." I mumbled rudely, rolling my eyes.

"Well let's take a look and see how you are shall we?" The guy, whose nametag read 'Dr. Fields,' decided it would be a good idea to invade my personal space and shine an even more obnoxiously bright light in my eyes. My wolf did not like that.

I let out a very loud growl and Dr. Fields retreated a few feet. He seemed to make sure he was out of biting range; maybe he had a brain in there after all. "I suggest that you don't try that again." I threatened.

"Cass, He had to make sure you're okay! Calm down." Riley reprimanded.

"I'm fine. I don't need a doctor to tell me that." I snapped back.

Riley just looked apologetically at Dr. Fields. "Good luck Doc."

The doctor was as pale as a ghost; it's good to know that I haven't lost my touch then. He should be scared; I was not someone you should mess with. Ever.

"How about you just tell me what happened?" I suggested to them both.

The doctor motioned for Riley to start. "Well what do you remember first?"

"I remember," I stopped, unsure if I should tell Riley about my past.

Riley, being who he is, seemed to pick up on this. "You can tell me Cassidy." He nodded encouragingly.
