'You can speak well, why are you having trouble reading such a simple passage? Again!' The slim stick came down onto the desk with a large 'whack!'

'A-and s-s-so the dutch-ess p-pond...'

Sighing in defeat, he squatted on his knees and placed his chin on the desk.

'It's 'pondered', sound it out after me. Pon-der-ed.'

'Pon-der-red.'

'Better, but don't add the additional r, just have it simply be ponder-ed.' The english lesson hadn't gone very well beginning with my limitations getting in the way of our session. Speaking came naturally, they were words I picked up from hearing others say and I merely put them together into sentences. On the other hand, spelling and vocabulary was the devil's work.

The longer I stared on the page, the more the words began to jumble and mix together. I squeezed my temples whilst trying to concentrate on where we'd left off.

'Read, and try not to stutter as much.' Glancing up at him, I scowled slightly before picking up the classical literature lines.

'And so the d-duchess - PON-DER-ED- upon the decisions that were at stake. The one true love of her life had seemed to d-disgrace-fully put her to sh-shame in the months that followed after. Nevertheless, she weeped for him to re-ret-...return and hopefully bare nothing of the wicked female.'

'Very good, improvements are possible to achieve in an hours worth of time.' He finally sat in back in his desk chair, facing the front of the desk with a satisfied facial expression.

'How did you like the book, El?' I wasn't expecting anything dealing with my comprehension of the text. Suddenly. I felt flustered and nervous of responding in the wrong sort of way.

'I found it a little bland. If the duchess were so hung up on just one man, she was only backing herself into the corner. No one told her to chase after him; that was her own decision.' Underneath the table, I fiddled with my fingers anxiously, eyeing his thought-provoked form.

He swiftly got up and walked over to his collection of books piled high on the shelves. His fingers scanned each one individually, searching for a specific piece that we'd surely have to start on once more.

'Sir, do you wish to read another classic?'

Silently, he grasped a large violet colored book before turning and sitting back down in the large armchair.

'Come here El, I want us to read this one together.'

The feeling of sharp prickles rippled through my spine as I stood and straightened out my sea blue winter dress made entirely of cotton.

As I approached him, he scooted back, leaving a bit of room between his separated legs.

'Sit,' the simple command gave me a fresh set of chills, my bottom resting on the tiny piece of the chair while a bit of my thigh rested against his own.

He brought out the book in front of us with his arms on either side of my body. I decided to stuff my own in the dress.

The book creaked open slightly as he flipped to open the first page.

'Take it slow this time, pronounce each word with precision.'

Nodding, I focused on the steady heartbeat on my back and the warmth surrounding me from his presence. He rested his chin on my shoulder, the rims of his reading spectacles tickling the side of my face slightly.

'All was dark; not a speck of light was to be seen for miles on end. Thus, the t-tale of the noble-men began on the very night the k-king was murdered.' As I continued to read on, I became conscious of his eyelids drooping slightly. The page needed to be turned but he had full access to the book. Nudging him, he turned it slowly, sighing down my neck.

'Yoongi, I think you should take a little rest, I can continue on.'

'Let's both take a rest.' The book was closed and placed in my lap as he leaned forward and rested his head on my shoulder.

'Y-You're head, it's he-heavy.'

'Get used to it,' he sleepily mumbled.
