Ty (POV)

"This is stupid" I mumbled as Ashley pushed me away from her.

"You need to hang out with her or the plan won't work" She hissed as all my stuff fell to the ground.

Ashley seemed please when Misty's head shot up from the sudden noise.

I rolled my eyes as I bent down to get my things while Ashley ran away snickering.

This is stupid! I wish homeroom would just start already.

"Do you need help?" Misty asked squatting down to pick up my folders.

I wanted to say no, annoyed by her urge to help me but a forced a smile. "Yah, Thanks" I muttered.

She looked shocked but then smiled as she helped my up and handed me the rest of my things. "Do you want to maybe hang out with me and Jerome? Unless you'd prefer to try to squeeze back into Ashley's group of desks" Misty smiled glancing at Ashley.

I could see Ashley giving me a stern glare before going back to talking to Jason.

I sighed. "Sure"

I could tell she was ecstatic as she ran over to Jerome and whispered in his ear.

His smile wasn't as big as Misty's but it was definitely something.

Having people this excited to hang out with you could be something I could get used to...

No Ty, it's not worth it. As long as Ashley knows you can't...you just can't.

"Hey Ty, we have an empty seat her for you" Jerome said patting the the desk next to him.

I smiled, for real for once, and walked over. "So, um, what do you guys talk about?" I asked whipping my hair out of eyes just to let it fall back in front of them.

"I was actually writing on an app I have called Wattpad while Jerome copied my homework, so I'm good with whatever you want" Misty laughed as Jerome's cheeks turned red with embarrassment.

I gave a muffled laugh before falling silent again. I need to bring up the topic slowly.

"I'm just glad I get to talk to someone, Ashley hasn't been at her best lately" I fake sighed.

"When is she even good?" Misty snorted causing Jerome to laugh.

Even I chuckled a bit before mentioning it again. "It's almost like she doesn't want to hang out with me anymore. She's always inviting Jason and Quentin over then leaving me out".

"Wow Ty, you've never be so open before" Jerome pointed out.

I flung my hair more in front of my face to cover my worried expression. "I guess I just feel like I can talk more freely without Ashley breathing down my neck"

Sadly this wasn't a lie, but it sure won Misty over. "Well you can always talk to us!" She beamed.

The bell suddenly rang after what felt like the longest homeroom ever.

Everyone rushed out of the room, pushing out of the way to get to their next class.

Except for Jerome and Misty...

"Come on, let's get to art" She said helping me back up on my feet.

Jerome parted from us as we made our way down the connection hallway.

"T-thanks for helping me" I muttered avoiding eye contact with Misty.

I know I was supposed to hate them but it's only been thirty minutes and I already feel like they are better friends than Ashley.

And she also actually cares about my wellbeing, unlike Ashley.

Snap out of it Ty! Your life will be even worse if you switch. Ashley will tell if I do, she will...

Jerome (POV)

I walked down the to the Gym meeting Mitch on the way there. "Mitch I need to tell you something about Ty"

He looked confused but curious ole Mitch couldn't help but listen. "I think he's trying to be Misty's friend and she seems to really want him in our group" I said as we walked through the gym door.

He seemed to snicker at my comment almost like I was acting stupid.

"Aww, someone is getting jelly" Mitch teased poking my shoulder.

Jealous! Of Ty? Please even if he did like Misty she's never date him over me.

"I'm being serious! I just don't trust him" I snapped pushing his shoulder away.

"So am I!" Mitch laughed. "She's favoring another guy and you're getting jelly!"

I can't believe him!

I rolled my eyes and left him to go get changed in the locker room.

***

I was busy playing 3vs3 basketball with Mitch and Preston when the bell rang and the girls ran to th locker room, worried they won't have enough time to refresh their make-up.

I walked to my P.E locker and threw on my clothes, still thinking about Ty.

I was going to wait for Mitch to finish changing but as Adam walked through the door I couldn't help but run up to him.

"Adam!" I yelled as I caught up to him. "I need to ask you something"

"What is it dude" He said adjusting his glasses.

Although Mitch is fun to talk with Adam surprisingly takes serious matters seriously.

"Did Ty ever strike you as the social type?" I asked causing him to lift an eyebrow in confusion.

"Please I'd have to beg Ty to socialize with my other friends. They only people he talked to was us and the rest of Team Cafted" Adam laughed.

I knew him being social was a bit off.

Although our next class was starting in less than ten minutes I continued to follow him to his locker.

"Well for some unknown reason he seemed to want to talk to Misty and me A LOT! It was a little weird" I said as Adam struggled with his locker combination.

His eyes suddenly grew wide.

"Yah, that's not right he can't do that and he wouldn't do that!" Adam said quickly swinging open his locker and grabbing his things as fast as he could.

Why is he trying to get away from the conversation...

"Well I think he wants to be our friends and not Ashley's" I suggested as Adam seemed to run to his other class.

"He can't though! And he knows it! Don't trust him, he'd never switch unless he was forced! There is too much on the line for him too!" Adam snapped quickly entering his other class.

As the hallways emptied I slowly walked to my math class as I processed what he just said.

"Too much on the line..."

What does that mean...

(A/N: Woah! That was...well I don't know if that was weird or intense but it's one of the two. So does Adam know about Ty's secret and is Jerome already figuring out Ashley's little plan? I don't know yet either, I usually don't figure out what happens till I write it)
