"This sounds weird. It is a rarity," the doctor began. Mitch then nodded, afraid of what the doctor was going to say. "Mitch, you might not believe this, but you're pregnant."

Mitch then widened his eyes, trying to process what the doctor said. Avi couldn't believe her. How does a male get pregnant. Mitch put his shaky hands on his small stomach that has developed into a small bump for a couple of months and stared at it, wondering how in the world he has a small person growing in him.

"How far am I?" Mitch asked shyly, rubbing his stomach. The doctor looked down at her notes and looked up once more. "Has it been that long?"

"You started getting symptoms right now, which is common in the males that do get pregnant," the doctor began. Mitch nodded nervously, afraid to hear the number of weeks. "By my estimate, you have been pregnant for about twenty five weeks, which is about five months. Congrat-."

Mitch interrupted her by crying heavily. He got off the hospital bed and ran out, leaving the doctor and Avi behind. Avi then stood up, looking at the doctor apologetically.

"I'll be right back," Avi promised, going out of the room. He saw Mitch with his forehead against the wall, crying as quietly as he can. "Mitch, what's the matter?"

Mitch then looked up, shaking. He turned around and put his back on the wall. He then slid down, causing Avi to sit down next to him. After a few minutes, Mitch looked up, his eyes full of sadness and tears.

"That was the last time Evan assaulted me before the night at the club."

~~~
Avi wanted nothing more than to punch a wall when he went into the ultrasound room. Mitch is having Evan's child. Mitch wanted to keep the child. He wanted to see it grow, despite the fact it might look like Evan. He was about to punch the machine when Mitch came in, looking scared but ready for something.
"When do you think my bump will get bigger?" Mitch asked quietly, rubbing the small bump. Avi shrugged and helped Mitch onto the bed. "Will my medicine affect them?"
Avi shrugged once more and kissed his boyfriend. The doctor then came in with a young female. The smiled at the sweet couple and the young female went to the machine and pressed a few buttons.
"This is Leighton," the doctor began. "She is your ultrasound technician. Today, you will learn the gender of your baby. Feel free to ask me questions afterwards."
Mitch nodded nervously as he saw Leighton put a weird goopy substance on something that looked like remote control. She then turned to unbutton Mitch's shirt, but he stopped her and did it himself.
"I'm sorry," she murmured, genuinely feeling bad. Mitch nodded and jumped when Leighton put the remote control like thing on his stomach. "I'm sorry again. That's cold. I am going over your stomach right now."
Avi watched intensely as the ultrasound technician pushed the small device on Mitch's stomach. He wants to hurt Evan. He wants him to feel the pain Mitch got from him but worse. He wants to-
"Avi," Mitch spoke up, getting Avi's attention. Avi nodded and looked down at Mitch, frowning slightly when he saw the tears running down Mitch's cheeks. "My baby."
There it was. A little body in Mitch's stomach. Avi widened his eyes loving as he stared at the small person that Mitch will have in about four months. Mitch began to cry more, happy to see such a fragile thing in his body. Leighton smiled as she printed out a picture.
"Congratulations. It's a girl. You two are going to make excellent fathers."
Mitch hugged Avi immediately, crying even harder. Avi rubbed his back lovingly, still thinking about thing.
*Why does Mitch want to keep the baby?*
~~~

Mitch couldn't stop looking at the picture. Despite the circumstances, he wouldn't want to let go of his daughter. He wants to love her. He wants to have her so he can show Evan that no matter what he put him through, he will become stronger.

"Avi?" Mitch asked innocently. Avi nodded, looking at his boyfriend. "Could we name her now? I really like the name Adira. It means strong and I feel like it would be such good name for her. Do you mind or do you have a better one?"

"I like it, Mitch," Avi told him honestly. He kissed Mitch's hand lovingly, making Mitch blush. "I can't wait to see her."

~~~
"He's having Evan's baby?" Scott whispered-yelled. Avi nodded as he looked back at Mitch. "Why though?"
"I don't know," Avi answered honestly. He watched Mitch go into his room and the bearded man looked back at Scott. "I'm trying to figure that out."
"I mean, I'm happy for him because I'm going to be an awesome uncle, but Evan is messed up," Scott replied, shaking his head. Avi nodded in agreement. "Just keep an eye on him, okay? He needs it."
Avi nodded, taking Scott's words in.
*I'll keep an eye on him until he dies. I will make sure that him and Adira do not get hurt because they are my family.*
~~~

Mitch ran his fingers gently across his stomach, Avi's snores calming him down. He then sighed and sat up, putting his hands on his stomach.

"Well, Adira, I guess I'll talk to you," Mitch began, laughing a little. "Your father was a mean man. He hurt me in many ways. One of those times, he gave me you, but I didn't even notice until now. You're my little angel and I cherish you so much even though I just learned about you today.

"Your daddy, the man who saved me, will love you endlessly. He will protect you from the nightmares. He will never let you go. He's helped me through so much. He loves you, baby.

"I love you too. I will never leave you unloved. You will be first always. Mommy loves you so much, Adira. I can't wait to hold you."

Mitch then smiled as he felt a little kick. He then sighed happily, running his hand down his stomach. He then felt Avi waking up, his smile only growing.

"Could I talk to her?" Avi asked, putting his hand over Mitch's. Mitch nodded and laid down, smiling when he felt Avi's hands on his stomach. "Your mommy is the strongest person I know. He's been through so much, but he became stronger in the end. You will be inspired by his beautiful strength, little girl. I love you so much. I can't wait to see you."

Mitch teared up and put his hand up to wipe away the tears. He then heard Avi start to sing Light in the Hallway. In no time, the deep voice sent Mitch to his own slumber. When Avi finished, the last words Mitch heard was:

"I'm finally singing Light in the Hallway to my child."
