Chapter 30

Emi was playing poker with Deidara and Kisame, and had beaten them every single time and took all there money making them depressed.

"Another game?"  Emi grabbed the pot of money in the middle and dragged it towards herself with a hopeful smile.

They both dug in their pockets and pulled them inside out showing nothing.  "Nope, out of money,"  Kisame said with a sad sigh.

She blinked at him innocently.  "Where'd all your money go?"

They both dead-panned and stared at her with emotionless eyes.

This teen in front of them had tricked them into thinking that she couldn't play and just wanted to learn.  She had let them think she couldn't play the first two times, but the third she waited until the pot was big enough then turned everything around.  They were so determined to beat her that they kept playing until there was nothing left.  Her poker face was perfect, which was one of the reasons she beat them.  They couldn't tell if she was bluffing or not.

"Where did you learn to play like that, un?"

She leaned her elbows on the table folding her hands in front of her face and smiled.  "Sensei."

They both blinked at her.

"M-Miyaka?"  They asked in unison.

"Uh-huh.  When she isn't doing jobs as a bounty hunter or jobs for others, then she goes to a casino in a small village near the leaf village.  They call her "stone face" because her face doesn't even twitch while she plays poker.  That's where we get our extra cash from."

"But how do you know how to play like you've been doing it for ages?"

"Because she taught me, and I play against her all the time so she doesn't get rusty."

"Oh."

She stood up and packed the money away, and walked away from the table proudly.

Leader came around the corner and looked at the two sulking in their chairs.

"What's wrong with you two?"

"We got tricked by a fourteen-year-old."

" . . .?"

The real story

Kakuzu had caught her when she had fallen back into his arms when her legs had given out and almost collapsed on the floor.

"No way . . ."

They all stared at the crystal ball on the other side of the room where the voice was coming from. Miyaka was now sitting on the floor in front of Kakuzu's feet, and her legs were shaking, from hearing the familiar voice come from the crystal ball.

"What.  Did you think I was helping you, and acting all nice to you because I felt like it?  Sorry hun, but I was doing it while I waited until you found a way to the temple and to this crystal ball of mine.  The vessel I'm in has to touch it and I'm removed without harming them.  And as we speak my body is regenerating."

"That can't be!  There's no way that could be possible!"  Miyaka had shot up fro her position on the floor with Kakuzu supporting her in case she fell.

"Well, sorry, but it is.  And I'm going to be free to unleash my power on the world once more."

Miyaka gritted her teeth, and let out a frustrated growl.

Kakuzu glanced at the side of her face and saw tears forming in her eyes slowly.  He put his hand on her shoulder squeezing lightly.

She didn't dare look at him if she did she would surely break down in front of the three of them.

"So what if you used her, she is strong enough without you.  Whoever you are."

Hysterical laughter came from the ball.  "You really are stupid.  Same as when the two of you were teammates.  Where do you think her powers came from?  Now she is just a normal ninja."

Hidan looked at Miyaka, her gaze was on the ground.  "She's right Hidan.  Akuma has now left my body, so my powers are no longer there.  I had already tried to use them."

He stormed over to the ball and looked inside it.  He saw the face of a woman with wavy red hair and eyes.  She was smiling at him, and suddenly he couldn't move, and a voice echoed in his head.

'You poor thing, your feeling for Miyaka are strong.  But even if you try and deny it you know that you love her deeply in your heart.  I can give her to you if you do what I say.'

Before the voice continued he was pulled away from the ball and Miyaka was now standing in front of him blocking his view of it.

"Don't listen to whatever she says to you.  She uses her words to manipulate people like she has done to me my whole life.  Switching her personality over and over to make me do what she wants." Her voice was shaking.

She turned and walked up to the ball glaring inside of it at the woman, which returned it.

"Don't you dare, Miyaka."  She snarled at her as she brought out a kunai holding it above the ball ready to bring it down.

As she brought it down on it power shot out in every direction, as Miyaka was thrown backward, into Kakuzu.

As everyone regained themselves a voice was heard in the air, "Miyaka, you horrible bitch!  Why couldn't you let me have my way?  I have waited so long to be able to be free, why did you destroy my only hope?!"

"Because you are evil."  She said looking down.

Akuma had been with her since she can remember.  And she never did get to use her full potential.

Before her voice subsided Akuma said something that terrified Miyaka to her core.  Something she didn't want anyone to know.

"You never did tell Kakuzu who your second identity is, isn't that right, Shadow?"  She laughed as the power disintegrated.

She turned slowly and looked at Kakuzu which now had a murderous aura around him.  Before anyone could do anything the temple started to crack and tremble.

It was collapsing.

She saw a figure by the door.  It was her dead mother.

Suddenly everyone was transported outside of the temple a safe distance away fro it.  Everyone except Miyaka.

They had looked and searched but not even a trace remained.  Itachi's eyes couldn't even track her.

They had even gone back and got Deidara and Zetsu to check above and underground but there wasn't a trace of her left.

Emi said that she might have sacrificed herself to save them and since the connection was no longer possible because it felt as if something had been cut off from her it had it be the only reason.

"Well, this was a complete waste of time,"  Hidan grumbled.  But inside he knew he was hurting.
