Chapter 17

Avalina P.O.V

I laughed as my dad told me a corny joke.

"So um dad there's someone I want you to meet"I said

"Really...who?"he asked

"Um well his name is Miguel...his my uh boyfriend "I said

"Girl what are you doing with a boyfriend at your age"he said getting serious

"Well I uh-"

"Dont well I uh me "he said cutting me off

"Look dad his a great person"I said

"So is he the one you ran away with?"

"Well um yeah"I said

"How dare you want to meet me up with someone who took you away from me...huh...I was worried sick wondering where it is you where and only to find that you was with a boy!"he yelled as I bit my lip in fear

My dad may be amazing but he is one strict man when it comes to boys and me.

"But dad he took care of me"I said

"Only cause he wants something!"he yelled again as I flinched

"But dad"

"Look..I don't wanna meet him and I don't want you anywhere near him...cause I hope the good Lord blesses me and gives me enough strength so that I may control my self cause I will kill him"

"Wait so your saying I can't see my boyfriend anymore!?"I exclaimed

"Yes...cause You don't have a boyfriend "

"You can't do that"I said

"I can!"he yelled

I stood up and I looked at him in disbelief.

I turned to walk away.

"Oh and if your planning on leaving with him...don't bother coming back"he said

I looked at him and I walked out.

My father means what he says and says what he means.

I sighed and wiped away the single tear that fell down my cheek.

I walked towards miguel.

"Hey babe what's wrong?"he asked as he gave me a hug

"Wanna go home?"he asked

I cried onto his chest as my dad's words played over and over in my head.

"I-i can't "I said as I pulled away from him

"You can't what?"he asked confused.

I looked down at my hands.

"I can't go home with you"I whispered.

"Why not? "

"Because Miguel...you and I cannot be together "I said

"Are you breaking up with me?"he asked as the look of hurt appeared on his face.

It hurt seeing him hurt so I looked back at my hands and bit my lip.

I couldn't speak so I nodded in response.

"Avalina look at me"he commanded

But I didn't listen.

"Dammit avalina look at me!"he yelled which caused the people around us to gasp and look at us.

I looked up at him.

"You can't just break up with me like that"he said

"Look I'm sorry...my father doesn't approve of us..and I can't go against his wishes"I said

"Lina but it's me...Miguel"

"I'm sorry"I let go of his hand and I walked away.

I walked back to my dad's room but I stood outside and cried my eyes out.

Later

"Avalina...wake up"Nancy whispered as fluttered my eyes open.

I looked around and I realised that we where still in the hospital.

I leaned my head against the door...wishing that it was all just a bad dream but it wasn't...my father was shot...and he made me break up with Miguel.

"What time is it?"I asked looking straight ahead.

"Its 4:00 am"she said

I didn't look at her or even crack a smile.

I kept a straight face cause I had nothing to smile about...I felt tired.

"Come on we need to go home"she said

I stood up and we walked outside.

I found miguel's car still parked outside.

"Um uh can you wait for me at the car...I need to talk to Miguel"I said and Nancy walked to Mary's car.

I knocked on the window.

The window rolled down and Miguel peeked his head out.

"Hi"I said

"Hey"he said as he scratched his head and looked every except for my face.

"Look we need to talk"I said

"Look avalina if your about to tell me your sorry save it ok...I get it...you do everything your daddy tells you and that's a clear indication that we can't be together"he said

"Ok..well I was actually here to say you can keep your stupid jacket you fucker!"I said before I threw his jacket on the floor and walked away

"Avalina!"he yelled

"What!?"i yelled as I turned around and looked at me

"Wow...I'm a fucker?"he asked

"Yeah"I said as he walked towards me.

"Well your right...I am a fucker...your fucker"he spoke as he stood in front me.

He grabbed my waist and pulled me close to me.

"And I love you"he said

"If you love me then why did you say what you said?"I asked

"Just to get you mad"he said as he pushed a strand of hair away from my face.

"You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen"he spoke

"But your sexy when your angry...and that's a turn on"he said

"Miguel I have to respect my father's wishes"I said

"I know...but How about we stay friends"he said

"I guess...that'll be ok"I replied

He hugged me and gave me a kiss on the forehead before he jogged to his car.

I got into the suv with Nancy grinning at me.

"What?"I asked

"You guys are so cute "she said

"Whatever"I said before I chuckled.

She drove home and when we got there a lot of police cars surrounded the place.

I walked into the house as I walked past a couple of officers inspecting the broken window.

I found Natalie and Mary answering some of the questions the officers asked.

I walked upstairs into my room and I fell face first.

I laid like that for a couple of seconds before I turned on my back.

Even though it's 4:00 am I'm tired as heck.

I changed into my pjs and got into bed before falling asleep.
