Chapter 4
Victoire Weasley

The next morning was really tense among the Gryffindors.

Victoire and Teddy hadn't spoken at all since their spat in the hallway. They both regretted things they had said, but were entirely too proud to give even the smallest apology.

James, Peter, and Sirius were on edge after witnessing Vic and Teddy's fight, wondering how much they really knew about the pair.

Remus was exhausted and in pain after the full moon and a painful transformation.

Lily, Marlene, Alice, and Dorcas had no idea what was going on in between the other seventh years, but they all had the sense that there was something wrong. Especially with the glares between Vic and Teddy, considering they had never seen them not speak.

Lily had tried to talk to Victoire about it, but she just brushed her off. Even Marlene had tried her hand at seeing what was wrong with the poor girl, and she was a shy as they come.

At breakfast, Victoire kept her head down, avoiding most people. She hated herself more than Teddy at the moment because of the things she had said about her family. She couldn't believe she had sunk so low as to take a jab at his father. She was a bloody hypocrite too. Her father had always taught her that it was the personality that made the person, not the family, not past actions, and especially not what they couldn't control.

She lifted her head just long enough to see Remus and Teddy walking into the Great Hall. Neither could look any worse.Remus was covered in cuts and bruises. He looked as if most of them had barely stopped bleeding. Teddy looked exhausted and quite angry with a couple scrapes himself.

Though Teddy wasn't a werewolf like his dad, he still had some wolffish qualities. Such as having a foul temper around the full moon, contrasting his usual sweet demeanor. He often hid in the forest during the night of the full moon just to be able to run around and burn off any extra energy, resulting in the scrapes that were shown on his body.

Victoire immediately felt worse. Both had obvious signs -to Victoire, at least- that the full moon had just passed. Victoire couldn't blame him for being so quick to snap at her last night. It hadn't been him, but his inner wolf.

She kept her eyes on her best friend as he sat down beside Remus across from James, Sirius, and Peter. Without giving herself time to talk herself out of it, she got up and walked over to the, currently, green haired boy.

"Teddy," she said softly. He looked up at her. Vic saw something in his eyes, something that almost scared her. She saw hatred in his eyes, most definitely directed at her. Vic regret her decision to even go over there.

"I-" she took a deep breath "I'm sorry for what I said about- your family." she hesitated for a moment "But I still mean the other things I said."

She ran out of the Great Hall before Teddy had a chance to react.

As much as she hated herself for it, Vic ran up to her dorm and cried. At first she didn't register why she was crying, but she didn't really care anymore. Not even caring that she would miss her classes.

She cried until her eyes felt raw, and her tears ran dry. She hiccuped a few times before drifted into an uneasy sleep, not even thinking to the classes she might miss.

She was woken up by Lily shaking her shoulder.

She bolted upright and started hyperventilating, remembering all the emotions that plagued her before she fell asleep.

"No, it's okay. Calm down." Lily said in a soothing voice. With a little coaching from Lily, Victoire was able to stay there, nice and calm. "Do you want to tell me what's wrong?"

"I- I- Had a fight with T- Teddy." she hiccuped. "H- he hates- ates me."

"No, I'm sure he doesn't." Lily comforted her.

"Oh no, I missed class!" she cried

"Don't worry about that. McGonagall just asked me to come and check on you, since you missed class. She isn't mad though, seeing as this is the first time."

"I should probably go talk to her." Victoire stood up a little uneasily.

Lily nodded and let her go.

"Professor?" Vic knocked on the door to the transfiguration classroom. She walked in and saw the elderly professor sitting at her desk.

"Miss Wilson, I hope you are feeling better. We missed you in class this morning." McGonagall said

"I'm really sorry, Professor. I wasn't feeling good so I went back to bed. I know that's no excuse, but I really am sorry." Vic rambled on

"Instead of giving you detention, seeing as this is your first infraction, would you be willing to tutor a first year struggling with charms?" McGonagall offered

"Yes! Of course! I would be willing even if I wasn't in trouble." Vic said with a laugh

"That's what I like to hear." McGonagall gave her a small smile.

"What's their name?"

"A Gryffindor first year," McGonagall looked up from the papers on his desk "Named Bill Weasley.
