Chapter 13
Victoire Weasley

Victoire, after meeting with Teddy, grabbed her bags and ran to the carriages. She caught the last one, she crammed herself in with two other students (a couple Hufflepuff sixth years).

Once at the station, Vic broke away from the flow of students, heading from the carriages to the train. She ducked behind a pillar and looked for a better hiding spot. She didn't spot a very good one, so she ducked behind a bush, dragging her trunk with her. She pulled out the page from her messenger bag. She sat on the trunk and poured over the last few footnotes and diagrams.

She prayed it would work, she had a feeling in the back of her head that it would take her forward, just a gut feeling, but it might not take her all the way. Maybe halfway. That's what she would hope for, halfway or a third. Part of her, the cynical part, told her that she would fail, but she knew she couldn't. Teddy getting home would rely on the success of this trip.

She read over the spell and how she would need to modify it for her own needs. She brought out her wand and started to cast the long winded ancient spell.

Tollite me deinceps triginta quattuor annis.

Sed per temporis spatium non.

Introduc me in tempore auxilio amicum.

The wind started to rush around Victoire. Leaves and bits of dirt and rock picked up in the wind, forcing the girl to clamp shut her eyes. She felt the wind pushing and pulling her around. At one point, she felt like she was about to fall over on her trunk.

When the wind died down, Victoire slowly opened her eyes. It was nightfall. Vic slowly peeked out from behind the bush. Not a soul in sight. Victoire ducked out of her hiding spot, dragging her trunk and messenger back with her. She hadn't realised how heavy her trunk was earlier, especially now that she would have to drag it all the way up to the castle. In a split second decision, she shrunk down her trunk, and everything in it, just enough so she could fit it into her bag. She put her wand in alongside it and slung it over her shoulder and started up to the castle.

She almost immediately started to shiver in the cool night's air. A soft breeze blew by carrying several dead leaves past her face. Victoire hugged her thin jacket to her body. Even though she had left during winter, she hadn't expected to return during winter. She was glad she wore her boots though.

Vic walked through the ankle deep snow. She kept her eyes mostly on her feet knowing that if she were to look up, she would most likely trip.

She heard some rustling in the forest beside her. A chill ran down her spine. She paused for no longer than two seconds. She heard a howl. Her head instantly snapped to the sky, searching for the moon hidden behind thick, dark clouds. She couldn't see anything. Why couldn't she see anything.

No, she was just being paranoid. She had traveled far enough into the future so that there isn't any werewolves, right? A rush of anxiety coursed down her body. Victoire doubted everything for just the smallest moment. She was able to convince herself that it was all paranoia. None the less, she started walking faster.

She could see the castle. No more than 50 paces away. She would be fine, what had she been worrying about? She paused for a moment, taking in a deep breath to calm herself. She's fine, she will be fine, and she was never in any danger. She took another step towards the castle. Another howl sounded out through the otherwise, silent night. This time it was closer. Victoire couldn't just play it off as nerves this time.

Slowly, she turned to face the direction of the source of the howl. She immediately wished she hadn't. A werewolf, at the peak of it transformation, was barreling down the path toward her. Vic's eyes widened. She had to choose, within a split second, whether to run -but not be able to outrun the werewolf- or to grab her wand and try to shift into her animagus form.

She had a low chance of surviving either way.

Victoire broke out into a run towards the castle. Simultaneously, she was reaching into her bag, digging to find her wand. She mentally cursed herself for shoving it in there so carefree earlier. Found it! She whipped it out. A claw dug into her calf, ripping the skin, fat, and muscle beneath it. Victoire screamed. She fell. Heavy jaws bit down on her mutilated leg as more claws ripped from her thigh down to the bite.

Victoire clutched her wand and yelled out "BOMBARDA MAXIMA!" The wolf was launched backwards, off of the poor girl's body, and scampered away, pushed by a stag and a dog.But Victoire didn't see that. She was more focused on protecting herself in the case of the wolf's return. She tried every healing spell she knew -which were quite a lot- but nothing kept the cursed cut shut. Given up hope, she transformed into her animagus form so that the wolf wouldn't catch her human scent and return to finish her off.

She wasn't able to more before she passed out.
