     "Cowards die many times before their deaths;

     BRIAR LUPIN WAS heralded as many things, with the most prominent of these being the fact that she could see the future, whether it be through a fog in a crystal ball or splotches plaguing her vision. As a child, it was greeted as a gift by her parents — although, once she began school, it dawned on her that what her parents called a gift would be called as weird, considering one was a werewolf and the other taught themselves how to perform wandless magic.

     Like most people, every year — especially of their childhood — was ruled by one big event that ended up shaping the rest of it. Eleven — first year — was the year in which Briar accepted the fact that others thought her mum, Laurel, was weird, and that she was, too. Her second year was when her visions bit back harder, nastier, and having two Death Eaters for uncles was regarded as painful. Her third year was when the Harry Potter returned, and they became friends solely because her parents had been good friends with his. Her fourth year was the one in which the Chamber of Secrets was reopened, and Briar began having visions surrounding Voldemort himself.

     Her fifth year, however, had three main events, as much as Briar wished there was only one so it would fit with the rest; her dad took the position of the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher; her godfather had escaped from Azkaban (and her mum had laughed hysterically when it was announced); and one of her best friends revealed that he had a crush on Angelina Johnson, and Briar felt somewhat inclined to set them up, using the old plan her godfather had written for her parents.

     "No offence, Briar, but that plan was written by a murderer."

     "Okay, Freddie, I doubt that. Also, this plan was what got my parents together. And, look at me! I'm proof that this works. You'll be saying your vows with Angelina in no time."
