Chapter 26: "If she can walk after what happened tonight!"

SCARLETT POV

Nathan pulls me closer until all I can see is the brown in his eyes. My heart rate picks up speed and a horde of butterflies sets up base in my stomach. When our lips finally meet, it takes all my self-control to not moan. The butterflies in my stomach, meanwhile, start to have a gala time.

His soft, pink lips look inviting and his mouth tastes like mint. His tongue brushes against my lips, begging for entrance.  My lips part and he tangles both our tongues. The kiss is everything a first kiss is supposed to be. He moves his tongue in my mouth and I do the same. After what seems like ages, we pull apart. Nathan looks at me in the eye once more.

"That was the best damn kiss I've ever had in my life, Woods..." he mutters in a husky voice.

"It was also your first, Cullen!" I giggle helplessly.

"That it was!" he agrees.

There's a moment of silence after which Nathan whispers, "Let's do it again" and crashes his lips on mine without second thought.

After handing the keys to Joshua, a red-faced Nathan sends away a rather amused Joshua with a smirk on his face. Joshua walks away whistling after locking up the library. Too embarrassed to say anything, Nathan just stares at the ground.

"What was that all about?" I ask him.

"Nothing, Princess. Nothing that you have to know about." He replies.

I let it go because I know I'm not going to get anything out of him anytime soon.  The soft moonlight bounces of leaves and a soft wind tickles my cheek. I want to talk about the kiss, how much I loved it, and how much I would want to do it again. I really do. But I can't bring myself to start that topic, so I walk in line with Nathan.

"I loved that feeling of your lips touching mine almost as much as Sheldon loves his spot." Nathan offers.

"Almost as much? Why not more?" I pout, secretly thanking my stars that I managed to put together a relevant, coherent reply.

"Well, because I'm sure that it would be a thousand times better if you were my spot." He replies, unabashedly.

I bite my lip and stare down at the ground: I'm blushing and giggling. Nathan just shakes his head before we move on to something that won't render me speechless. We walk a bit further and turn on to the street where the both of us live.

Nathan skips a little in front of me and pockets something from the ground. He walks me to my front porch and stands in front of me, his side to the house. The porch light is off but there's white light coming out of my bedroom window, completely confirming my theory that three little bitches are waiting up for me. Seeing as I have little desire to meet them anytime soon, I linger around.

Nathan leans in again and I throw my arms around his neck, He bends a little and I get on my tiptoes. He crashes his lips to mine. This time, I'm so eager to feel his tongue on mine that I let him kiss me right from the start. He responds with a lot of passion and our tongues meet. He pulls me closer again and starts making circles on the small of my back. A few minutes later, he pulls apart.

He gazes at me and puts a stray lock of my hair behind my ears. He reaches into his pocket and fishes something out from it.

He hands me a yellowed leaf and whispers into my right ear, "I leaf you, Scarlett Woods."

"Um, yeah, I kinda too..." I finish because I honestly have no idea what to say.

Nathan chuckles at my reaction. He pulls my cheek and whispers, even though there's no one around to listen, "You're insanely adorable when you blush, Princess."
