Chapter 12- "Done checking me out?"
SCARLETT POV
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he's actually asking me out. I don't react for some time since I'm not sure if this is a prank. I don't think it is. Nathan looks at me expectantly. His head is tilted to the side in a really, really cute way.
I think I have it bad. Real bad.
I nod my head and the relief that washes over his face is noticeable. He grins. I let out a small smile too, though, on the inside I just feel like jumping up and down with joy. He removes his arm from my shoulder and the warmth is instantly taken away. I feel bad but don't say much. He's officially mine now. As I realize how good this sounds, I smile another one of my stupid smiles.
Then, I catch Nathan staring at me, shaking his head.
"Have you changed my mind because you saw me smiling to myself?" I ask, thoroughly embarrassed.
"Nah. Of all the things in the world, I could never change my mind about you. Your smile is like Expelliarmus. Simple, but disarming..." he trails off. I want to let out an AWWWW but I know doing so is just going to embarrass me further.
I just blush and move away. It's about 7:25 and Hazel can be here any moment. I trust my sister and all but I want the girls to be the first people to know about this. Even as I'm thinking about this, I catch Nathan texting away and I have a feeling that they might already know. I text Allie and then spot her coming out of the mall.
Evan and Allie are holding hands, while Emmett is trailing behind Adrian and Lauren who are having an animated conversation about Vampire Diaries. Emmett shoots me a suggestive look. Allie's smirking. I should have known that this was a plan. But this once, I am not mad.
Their plan, whatever it was, actually worked. And it got me what I wanted. So, I don't even want to ask Evan, Emmett, Adrian, Lauren or Allie. Some things, especially such things, are best heard from a blushing Nathan.

It's a quarter to four and the Woods household is bustling with activity. The girls have come over to help me get ready for my date with Nate. Matt has come over too. They're in Hazel's room, doing God-Knows-What. I feel kind of curious about it actually. I'm about to ask Hazel, when I realize that I can live with not knowing what my sister and her boyfriend are up to. If you know what I mean!
I go up to my room with four glasses of chocolate milkshake. The girls have half of my closet dumped on the bed. Allie and Adrian are arguing over what I should wear, while Lauren is picking up accessories. Allie says I should wear a full-length gown while Adrian believes that I should keep it casual with a top, a shrug, a pair of jeans and my Chuck Taylors.
Allie thinks that it would make much more sense if I looked so hot on my first date that Nathan never thought of another girl ever again. Adrian on the other hand, believes it's best to take things slow and not let Nathan know how much I really like him. She thinks he might just be another Jonathan.
Though I disagree with Adrian's reasons, I have a feeling that her outfit is going to be a better choice. I don't know where Nathan is taking me and I don't want to spoil the fun just because I can't move two steps to the right without bumping into somebody, wearing that poofy dress.
Allie is a little disappointed that I'm not wearing the outfit she picked out, but she cheers up soon enough. The girls think that I should wear minimal make-up since I look best in the natural look. We're done dressing me up at about five. Nathan isn't coming around till a half past six.
