The sunlight poked through the tears in the curtains. Jeff's latest addition to his room due to his rage fits. I recalled the awkward conversation I shared with Jeff yesterday and immediately felt a weight of sadness dawn on me. It wasn't quite sadness but more of a mixture of confusion and everything else all together. Jeff still laid there peacefully and I half glared at him. His left arm lazily covering his face as he held me firmly in his right arm. My arm hand was on his chest feeling his heart beat steadily. I adjusted and moved my legs back and forth under the covers feeling the fresh, cold sheets that were in touched by me considering I stay in the same place throughout the night.

I unravel myself slow from his grasp which is surprisingly easy to roll out of. I sit up and run a hand through my black messy hair. I look over my shoulder to see Jeff staring confused at me before opening his mouth to speak. "Morning." He mumbled. "You're up earlier." He said extended his hand to shield his eyes from the little bits of sunlight. I shrugged. "Are you gonna come back to bed?" He asked opening his arms and inviting me back into his embrace. "I'm hungry..." I stated truthfully making him half smile. "Well I'm cold...and lonely....so." He replied trying to imply something. I rolled my eyes playfully and laid my dad down in his chest making him wrap his arms around me. "I'm still hungry..." I mumbled after a while. I drew little circles on his abdomen as combed his finger through my hair. "There should be breakfast down stairs....you can go if you want to." He said letting his hand fall to my back, the space between my shoulder blades. "What are you going to do?" I asked turning my head slightly to look up at him. "Probably take 10 more minutes to sleep before I have to get up and feed smile." He stated looking up to the ceiling. "You're not going to eat?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Maybe...if I feel like it." He gave a lazy shrug. I nodded with an "oh." I replied and laid still. "Well...I'll be down stairs." I said breaking silence again after a while. Jeff hesitantly released me as I stood and awkwardly shuffled to the door knowing his eyes were on me. "See you in a little bit, I guess." I half smiled turning to look at him. He nodded with a yawn and he stretched up and got comfy again, relaxing his arms behind his head. I closed to door behind me and stood alone in the empty hallway. I sighed quietly and gently rested my forehead against the wood of the door as my hand still held the brass door knob.

I made my way aimlessly down the hallways not really paying attention to anything in particular. I was sort of jail floating along. I gripped the railing of the stairs and slide my hand down as I walked lazily down the stairs and into the kitchen. "Morning." EJ was the first to greet me, poking his head from up top of the newspaper. "Morning...anything interesting in the old black and white?" I say and half chuckle to myself. "Nah, pretty dull actually....looks like we need to step up our game." He said boldly and it was clear he was smirking under his mask. I smile to myself and placed some waffles on my plate. That was another good thing about living here...everyone liked different things to eat so almost every morning there was a wide assortment of choices for food. "So.." EJ started as he lifted his mask up half way. "How did you sleep?" He added and took a drink of something. I couldn't see what he was drinking considering his cup wasn't transparent. I shrugged. "...okay I guess." I took my time to answer as a small chuckle followed from EJ. "Jeff is pretty persistent isn't he?" He spoke almost amused and looked back down at the paper. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye and leaned against the corner putting a fork full of waffles in my mouth. "I don't understand him." He added turning the page. I shrugged. "I don't think anyone does." I said keeping my eye on my waffles soaking with syrup and powered sugar. "You did." EJ said "matter of fact" like. I stayed quiet. "Jeff is lucky to have you." EJ spoke again and this time I noticed he was standing instead sitting on the corner like he was. I half shrugged. "He gets frustrated with me a lot so...I don't know." I tried to added in some humor. "Yeah but that's just Jeff...sometimes I like to think he gets frustrated with the things he cares about most." He chuckled and started pacing the kitchen. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well sometimes I don't think he realizes he gets frustrated...he sort of just wants people to do go so he pushes them in the wrong ways." He said walking over to me. "Like the other day Jeff was talking with Sally and I over heard her say she wanted to be a princess but she's never find a prince and he basically ranted about how if she really wanted something she has to get it herself but he was yelling and she cried." EJ chuckled amused. He means well but sometimes he does do well." He added. I nodded. "You're so wise." I teased and nudged his arm making him nervously laugh. He mumbled something has he rubbed the back of his head. "You should talk to him." He stated. "You're right. Thanks EJ you're always a big help." I said hugging him. When I pulled away I heard the front door slam. "What was that?" I asked looking to EJ who shrugged and turned to look at the food again before stabbing a waffle with a fork and smelling it. "Just eat it." I rolled my eyes and laughed before making my way to the staircase.

I walked to the end of the hallway and into Jeff room. Jeff was gone. "Maybe he's in the shower?" I asked myself and turned to go back down the hall bug the bathroom was empty as well. I have a confused look and made my way back down stairs thinking he was playing video games with Ben. "Hey Y/n." The link look alike greeted as he say criss cross on the couch. "Hiyya Ben...have you seen Jeff?" I asked looking to en and then the Tv screen. "Wasn't he the one that stormed outside? Wonder what has his panties in a bunch now." Ben chuckled to himself an I sighed leaving the living. I walked out onto the porch but he wasn't there either. "I wonder why he left so mad?..." I asked myself and leaned against the railing of the porch.
