I decided to go ahead and update twice today! I hope y'all like it and don't worry, plenty of Adam is coming up soon!

-Hayley :)

I took a deep breath, inhaling my Dunk's coffee. Oh yes, I desperately needed this coffee. I quickly moved to the left to avoid a jogger on the boardwalk and headed toward the Surf Shack. I reached for the handle, slightly dreading work today.

This week has been fairly slow and I think Jessie is going out of his mind being cooped up in the shop lately. Lord knows what he will get himself into if we don't get lessons or something anytime soon. And by saying getting himself into something I really mean, how am I going to suffer for his boredom?

I dropped my purse and keys behind the counter and thoughtlessly headed to the back to check the tide for the day. First mistake there.

I couldn't stop thinking about yesterday with Jared. This whole going to rehab thing has me mind boggled. I truly can't wrap my head around the fact that Golden Boy Dessen actually drank himself into rehab. Nor do I believe that any ex-girlfriend of his would be the source. First of all, he is the only human being on the planet that can actually break up with a girl and she is somehow okay with it.

I've always wanted to sit in on it. I want to know what he says to the girl for that to happen. It's truly impressive.

Second of all, he doesn't even date seriously. Not seriously enough for him to get close enough to a girl to where she could sink her dirty claws into him to actually make him slightly insane. It's just not Jared. Granted he has changed since Dad passed, but still.

I sat at the desk, typing on the keyboard to pull up the information I needed. I reached for my coffee that I had mindlessly set on the desk, like I always had, but didn't feel it. I glanced away from the computer to look for it and came up blank. Second mistake.

What the--

"Boo!"

I screamed and jerked away so hard I fell out of the chair and crashed onto the floor. I found my coffee.

"Dammit Jessie!" I shook my hand out. I landed on my wrist and right hip, which were currently in a puddle of my crushed coffee.

He laughed hysterically from behind me as I struggled to stand.

I angrily shoved the chair away from me and flipped over onto my other side to glare at him. He was a in a full body shark suit, his hands/fins, were clutched to his stomach.

"You're a dick," I spit out while trying to stand, but slipped on my coffee and landed hard back on my butt. I winced.

"Oh my--your face--your fall!" he continued laughing. I couldn't see his face behind the goofy shark suit, but I heard him suck in a deep breath to recover. He then stood up straight and began dancing.

I stared at him, my jaw slightly slack in shock. This asshole will be the sole reason I ever get in trouble with the law. I mean it.

Livid, I pulled myself up using the desk next to me and reached for a row hanging on the wall. He was too busy doing some goofy dance that I'll admit if I weren't so pissed I would probably be laughing at. I mean it was a purple shark suit. It was funny. He didn't notice me getting close to him.

With all the force I could muster, I smacked him with the thick row across his stupid shark head.

"Fuck!" He ducked and his fins covered his head. "Ow, Dess stop!" I continued after him as he waddled away from me.

"Quit!" he shrieked as I kept hitting him, pissed and soaked in coffee.

"You will die by the jaws!" He yelled before diving behind a rack of clothes. I tried to go around, but he had already waddled his way behind me. He wrapped his fin hands around my body and tackled me to the ground.
