"Demi," I growled from underneath her as she struggled to peek over the fence of Olivia's very private estate.
"Lift her higher Al," Lissa called over to me from her 'post.'
"Shut up," I grumbled, far past the point of annoyance.
"Put your back into it," Demi whispered. I bent my knees slightly and gave her one last shove, putting every ounce of strength into it while she grabbed the top to hoist herself up.
Suddenly she screamed and all I saw was her flip flops go flying and her legs going straight into the air.
Lissa popped up to observe our situation, meanwhile, I was frozen in place, my hand over my mouth.
"Oh my god," I ran over to the crack in the fence. "Are you okay?" I whispered loudly, moving left and right to look for her.
I finally spotted her.
"Fuck!" She yelled as she held her arm, sprawled out in a bush.
Lissa came sliding up next to me, nearly losing her footing in the grass. We glanced at each other in panic.
"How are we getting her out of there?" Lissa chewed her nails.
"How would I know?" I responded, both of us pressing our faces to the fence to look at her.
She was rolling out of the bush, landing with a thud in the perfect grass beneath it.
"Ooo," I winced as I saw the amount of damage the bush did to her. Twigs were sticking out of her hair in every angle and her skin was covered in cuts and scratches.
"You look terrible," Lissa called after her. Demi pressed herself up into a lazy plank position, sending us her worst 'go to hell' look.
Lissa and I pulled away and stared at each other.
"Jesse?" Lissa suggested, looking hopeful.
"No way, he would kill me for doing this," I scoffed, rubbing my forehead, frustrated.
Despite Jesse's advise in not playing spy, we decided to snoop on Olivia. So far it hasn't gone well. Clearly.
"Alright, thank you!" A man called from the other side of the tree line.
Lissa and I exchanged a panicked glance before jumping behind some bushes, waiting for the person to pass.
"Did you hear that?" Someone said.
"How do we have the worst luck?" Lissa whispered.
"Because we do some stupid things," I whispered back, wanting to smack myself for doing this. We were so screwed.
"Ew, ew, ew," Lissa squeaked as quietly as she could. She pointed at her foot.
Confused, I leaned over to see what she was reacting to and quickly slammed back into the fence causing a loud thud against the tall, thick wood. Lissa was scooting further away from her spot to avoid the disgusting thing.
Spiders. It's what we deserved, of course, we couldn't possibly do something without disapproval reigning down on us. Yet, Olivia Wright could walk around destroying everyone and have nothing happen to her.
"Oh yeah I do hear something, here I'll check it out for you sir," another voice said. Footsteps began making their way to us.
