05: Study Sessions with Moony

A FEW WEEKS PASSED with nothing eventful happening. The Marauders still pranked anything that breathed or had a pulse, even teaming up with Peeves on a few occasions. Vanessa and Arabella were still constantly at each other's throats, and Sirius being completely oblivious to this.

It was a couple of months into term and Remus and Arabella found themselves studying for a Potions test. They didn't need to, of course; but, they figured it was a better way to pass time than thinking of ways to make Snape's life a living hell.

"So, Arabella..." Remus trailed off, looking up from his notes. They were the only two there and the librarian was off doing god knows what, so they allowed their voices to be louder than appropriate for a library.

"So, Remus..." Arabella echoed, looking back at him with a soft smile on her face.

"You and Sirius huh?" Remus asked with a suggestive tone in his voice, which Arabella rarely heard, smirking and his eyebrows were raised.

Arabella groaned as she hit her head on the table with a quiet thud. "Not you too." she mumbled.

"Pardon?"

"A few weeks ago, they thought I was jealous of Vanessa-" Arabella gets cut off mid explanation by a cough from Remus, "Why in the name of Merlin would you be jealous of her?"

"Exactly." Arabella replied with an exaggerated sigh. "Anyways, they thought I was jealous of her for being with him and now they think I fancy him."

"Why would they even think that you were jealous anyways?"

"Because I kept ranting on a bout how she was a bitch."

"But she is a bitch." Remus interjected.

"Exactly! Finally someone who gets what I'm trying to say!" Arabella yelled, throwing her hands up in exasperation causing the librarian to look at her with a glare.

"Sorry." She said sheepishly, shrugging her shoulders and looking at the librarian. The librarian simply shook her head and looked away while Arabella turned back to look at Remus.

"I don't like Sirius that way, okay? He's like my annoying brother and that would make liking him too weird. But as his unbiological sister, I have the moral obligation to decide whether or not his girlfriend is good for him. And let's face it Remus, the only thing Vanessa's really good at is shagging." Arabella said sighing and shaking her head.

Remus nodded and turned back to continue reading and Arabella followed soon. Remus was a couple of sentences in when he turned to look up at Arabella and said, "You two would still look really good together." He smiled.

Arabella rolled her eyes and threw a crumpled piece of parchment at him. "Shut up Remus."

"No but really." Remus continued. "The both of you would be such a power couple. The both of you are very popular, with the opposite sex and just in general. You two are very smart, have quite a lot in common, and you have been friends with Sirius longer than any of us. Even James."

"You really want us to be together, don't you?" Arabella asked, sighing.

"I want you two to be happy." Remus smiled fondly. "It just so happens it's with each other."

THIRTY MINUTES into their studying,they were interrupted by a several books being dropped onto their table causing the both of them to look up. The pair was greeted with a grinning Sirius.

"What do you want Sirius?" Remus asked him, turning back to his book. "Yeah, we know you aren't in the library to study." Arabella added, agreeing with him.

"I just wanted to know if my two best mates would want to go on a walk to the lake with me." Sirius asked and Arabella and Remus looked at him weirdly.

"What happened to hexing students with James?" Arabella asked him.

"Eh. I didn't want to anymore." Sirius said nonchalantly. "Come on guys. We can levitate balls of water with our wands and throw it at each other. That's fun, right Belle?"

"Yeah, when we were like eleven." She said rolling her eyes.

"Well, I'm feeling tired. So I'll have to pass." Remus said, closing his book and putting it into his bag. "I'm sure Ara would love to join you."

Arabella's eyes went wide as she caught up on what Remus was doing. "Remus." She said warningly, looking pointedly up at his standing figure.

"Ara." He copied smiling.

"Come on, Belle. Please?" Sirius pleaded, looking up at her with his puppy-dog eyes, knowing that she couldn't resist when he did that.

Arabella rolled her eyes and and nodded as Sirius pumped his fist in celebration. Remus left the two friends with a satisfied smile.
