It was night. The sun had just set and stars were beginning to creep over the resistance bay.

Poe was going to take me to the nearby system for dinner. It was somewhat of a cantina with all kinds of people.

I was in my room getting ready. I had picked out a simple black dress with a belt which I strapped my saber to. I didn't own too much formal wear. Most of it was for funerals of other pilots.

Poe said this place wasn't super fancy, but at least nice. I put on a bit of makeup and slipped on my dress.

The anticipation was killing me. I'd never been on a real date. I sat playing with my fingers, waiting for Poe to arrive to my quarters.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

I shot up out of my seat and ran to the door.
"Hi," I greeted nonchalantly.

Poe looked rather dapper.
His outfit was a black blazer over a white collared shirt and black matching pants. He looked good.

"You look, wow," Poe said.

I blushed. "Thanks. You look great too."

"Shall we go?" he asked.

Poe offered me his arm and I took it.

We walked down the hall of doors. A pilot stood in his pajamas outside his door, brushing his teeth. Why he was doing that outside his room? I wasn't sure.

The pilot whistled. "Go get 'em Poe!"

Poe smiled and gave a two finger salute while I blushed in embarrassment into his arm.

We were taking his X-wing to the restaurant. Poe helped me as I stepped inside. It smelled strangely pleasant.

"Poe?"

"Hmm?"

"You cleaned out your X-wing?" I asked, surprised.

"Yep. Just for you," he said with a smirk.

We flew through hyperspace for a few seconds and popped out at a small planet.

The restaurant was an older establishment and the name was in a sandstone dialect.

It was a dimly lit restaurant but the food was very good.

Poe and I chatted across the table amongst the other couples.

"So, how'd you find out about this place?" I asked.

"My parents and I used to come here when I was young since it's so close to the base. So it has a lot of good memories. I wanted to come back here so I could have more happy memories with you. I-I really like you Y/n."

"I-I don't know what to say," I said with a blush.

"Yeah well, you deserve a break from all your work. You do so much for all the pilots and I don't think they appreciate it enough. So I just want to say thanks."

"Poe, I've only know you for a few days and you're probably the most sincere pilot we have."

"Aw c'mon, Y/n. Now I'm blushing," he laughed. "You're so . . . Beautiful. I can't believe I'm on a date with a Jedi."

He called me beautiful! But . . .

"Poe, um I don't think you should use my title here. But . . . thanks," I said with a blush.

We flew back to the base after dinner. Poe walked me to my room under the stars.

"I had a great time," I said.

"Me too. I hope we can do it again," Poe said.

"Yeah, me too," I said.

Poe leaned down and kissed my cheek which turned pink.

"Goodnight, beautiful," he said and turned to walk towards his room. As he went, he clicked his heels, practically skipping.
