Poe's POV

"Y/n!" I called, running around the resistance bay. I spotted General Leia at the command center.

"General, have you seen Y/n?" I asked, out of breath. "I think I have some much needed good news for you and her . . ."

"Tell me, please, Poe," Leia said.

"Well, this is a really long story so . . . There's this guy that my buddy talked to in a bar and Luke Skywalker came up in their conversation. Turns out the guy my buddy was talking to happened to be Lor San Tekka and-"

"Poe, slow down," Leia chided.

"Lor San Tekka has a map to Luke Skywalker," I stated. The words still sounded foreign to me.

General Leia's eyes widened.

"I need permission to meet Tekka at Jakku," I said.

"By all means, Poe, go right ahead. But I would tell Y/n first," she said.

"Thank you, thank you!" I said, shaking her hand. "Where is Y/n?"

"She's having her scheduled health screening."

"Oh right! That's today. I should probably go do that as well."

I ran over to the med building. Y/n was just coming out the door. She saw me and I ran into a hug.

"What was that for?" she asked. "You sure are extra happy."

"Y/n, I have great news. I have found a guy who will give us a map to Luke Skywalker." She stood shocked.

"Poe. . ." She whispered. "That's amazing. I-I'm at a loss for words. How?"

"It's a long story, really," I said. "We can bring Master Skywalker home." I took her tiny hands in mind. "I already asked Leia if I could go to Jakku and get it from him. She seems thrilled and—" I stopped.

Y/n eyes looked sad but she was also smiling.

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"I have news . . ." She started. "I don't know if you'll think if it's good or bad though."

I looked at Y/n, confused. What would be good and bad? We'd been dating for a year and a half just about. I was thinking about popping the question soon but . . .

"Poe," she whispered. "I'm pregnant."
