"We gotta go," I said. "They're here for either me or BB!"

I stood from the bench and ran as fast as I could with my about four months pregnant belly. Rey, the strange man, and the droids followed close behind.

Huts and shacks blew up all around us as TIEs began shooting.

"We need a ship!" I yelled.

"That one there!" Rey said, heading towards the farthest ship.

"What about that one?" the man asked, pointing to a closer one.

"That ship's garbage!" Rey said. Just as she said that the ship we were running towards was blown up by TIEs. We stopped running in shock.

"The garbage will do!" Rey said as we followed her towards towards the ship.

"What about a pilot?" I asked. I only ever flew X-Wings.

"We've got one!" Rey said.
We climbed aboard. She took the pilot's seat and I took the co-pilot's.

"Blasters are down that way," Rey said to the man. We took off with the TIEs on our tail. Whoever the guy was, he could shoot down TIEs like it was his job.

Rey guided the ship through wreckage, trying to get one off our back. She turned abruptly and the TIE crashed.

"Whoo!" she cheered.

We took off into hyperspace. Rey got us to the middle of nowhere and put the ship on autopilot.

I stood up slowly. "That was . . . stressful," I said. The man came up from the blaster cockpit.

"Nice shooting," Rey said.

"Nice flying," he said. They began chatting rather excitedly about the small battle.

"Excuse me?" I asked. "Sir, what's your name?"

"Finn," he said.

"I'm Rey," said Rey. They shook hands.

"Y/n," I said and shook his hand. "We need to get back to the Resistance base. And give them the map to Luke Skywalker."

Finn nearly choked on his spit. "Luke Skywalker? You're with the Resistance?"

"Yes, and so was Poe," I said quietly.

"Finn, I—" My sentence was stopped short by an alarm.

"No!" Rey yelled. Smoke began coming out of a pipe. "If I don't patch this, the ship will fill with poisonous gas!"

I threw her a toolbox as she lifted up a grate and climbed down inside.

I kept handing her tools until she finally popped her head out of the hole.

"Got it!" Rey announced.

"You sure are quite the mechanic—"

The lights flickered for a second as we heard a groaning sound.

"That's not good," Finn said and ran to look out the windshield. Rey climbed over him to see.

"Something's latched on to us," said Rey.

"It's the First Order!" I said. My body began to shake wildly. "Rey, you said this ship could fill with poisonous gas, right?"

"Yes, but I fixed it," she said.

"Well, can you unfix it?" I asked quickly.

We ran over to the grate that lead under the ship, grabbing breathing masks. Rey helped me as I climbed down inside. Finn followed after, bringing BB-8 and R4 down with him. Rey began pulling at the pipe as Finn pulled the grate back over.

Just as the grate clanged into place, the ship's door slid open but no stormtroopers marched in.
