Poe's POV
I sat restrained in a chair holding me upright. I had been beaten, thrown around, and now, I sat in silence, waiting for them to ask me where the map was again.

Just then, the door slid open. The man in the black hood who interrogated me back on Jakku came in.

"I had no idea we had the best pilot in the resistance on board. Comfortable?" He asked sarcastically.

"Not really," I answered. Blood began to drip down the side of my face.

The hooded man walked slowly towards me. "I'm impressed. No one has been able to get out of you what you did with the map."

"I think you need to rethink your technique," I answered smugly.

The man put a gloved hand in front of my face. He seemed to be concentrating. My head flew against the back of the chair and collided with a metal clang. I felt pressure in my head. He was in my thoughts, trying to find what I had done with the map.

"Huh . . ." the man breathed. "Y/n L/n. My old Jedi pal," he spat.

My heart dropped. I never wanted to bring her into it.

"And a baby? How touching," the man growled. "I know you'll talk now . . . Now, where is it?" he asked once more.

"The Resistance will not be intimidated by you," I said.

I thought of anything and everything but the map. I thought of Leia, my friends and fellow pilots. Y/n . . . How much I loved her.

Then, everything went black. The man had gotten what he wanted.

~~~
I awoke to a stormtrooper saying, "Ren wants the prisoner."
I had no idea how much time had passed.
Here we go again, I thought.
They unlatched the restraints and I fell out of the chair. The one stormtrooper took my arm and with a gun held to my chest, lead me down the hallway.
"Turn here," he said. We went into a small room. "Listen carefully, if you do exactly as I say I can get you out of here."
"What?" I questioned.
The stormtrooper took off his helmet. "This is a rescue. I'm helping you escape. Can you fly a TIE fighter?" He asked quickly.
"You're with the Resistance?" I asked.
"What? No, I'm breaking you out! Can you fly a TIE fighter?" he whispered again.
"I can fly anything," I said confidently. "Why are you helping me?"
"Because it's the right thing to do," he answered stoically.
"You need a pilot?" I asked.
"I need a pilot," the stormtrooper sighed.
"We're gonna do this," I said with a eyebrow raise.
"Yeah?" he said but it was more of a question of his sanity. I didn't blame him.
We we walked swiftly, with him holding a gun to my chest as a disguise. We ran to a TIE the first chance we got and climbed in.
"I've always wanted to fly one of these things," I said with a grin. I wiped the blood from my face and grabbed the controls.
As I tried to take off, the TIE pulled back. It seemed to be attached to a leash.
Stormtroopers began shooting at us.
"I can fix this!" I yelled. Finally the leash snapped and we were off into space.
"Woah! This thing really moves!" I said adjusting to the controls. "Alright, we need to take out these cannons or were not going to get very far. I've got is in position! It's a clean shot!"
My "rescuer" manned the blasters and blew up the ships into firey billows.
"YEAH!" We yelled in unison.
"Did you see that?!? Did you see that!?!" He yelled.
"I saw it!" I yelled back. "Hey what's your name?"
"F-N2187," he answered.
"F-N, what?" I asked.
"That's the only name they ever gave me," he said.
"Well I ain't using it. F-N huh? I'm going call you Finn, is that alright?"
"Finn, yeah I like that!" he said.
"I'm Poe, Poe Dameron," I said.
"Good to meet you Poe," he answered.
"Good to meet you too, Finn."
I turned the TIE towards Jakku. The First Order began shooting at us once more.
"Where are we going?" Finn asked. He looked at the GPS. "Back to Jakku? No, we can't get back to Jakku! We need to get out of this system!"
"I need to get my droid. He's a white and orange BB unit. One of a kind," I said.
"I don't care what color it is!"
"It's carrying a map to Luke Skywalker!" I said.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" Finn yelled.
