(Dom's POV)

Jeric: MRI result showed I have a slight Anterior Labrum tear.

I sighed. I just tap a plain 'get well soon' and send it to Jeric. He seemed aloof towards me since he injured his shoulder. Based on how Jeric is treating me right now I expected that you won't reply though a part of me was hoping otherwise. But as expected, he didn't reply.

I ignored the nagging feeling that Jeric is avoiding me. I kept saying to myself that he's just very busy.

I ran into him once in a while at school. Other than his 'Hey, I'm running late' dialogue when I see him, I received some nod or meek smiled. I'd always what to yell to him that 'Hey you're excuse is lame'. But I never had the backbone to.

When I started to morphed into feeble person. I’m always a strong and tough kind of person before.

Jeric Teng. You are driving me nuts! Whose fault is it that I had fallen for him? Yeah, Right. Cupid. Well his aim sucks. He should have shot me dead instead. Ang dami daming lalake jan bakit best friend ko pa?

Days passed,

I texted Jeric

Me: Are we still going to see the movie that we planned to watch like forever? It’s showing na.

Jeric: Sorry. I'm staying at the quarters, we have curfew.

I didn't bother to reply. I thought of inviting Kim or Leslie or some of my other friends. But I don't want them to look like a spare tire so I decided to go on my own.

I saw Jeron at the mall he was just walking around because he got bored. He invited me to play 2K13 at their place. Jeric was at the quarters and I'm also bored, why not?

We were playing at the living room. Jeron won the first match, I won the second. The 1st half of our third match just ended with a score of 34-29, I have the leading score.

"Pag nanalo ako you'll wear green at the finals ha." Jeron said while we're playing.

"Pagnanalo ako you'll have to brag your singing abilities sa next girl na magpapapicture sayo. Tapos samplelan mo sya." I laughed.

"Mananalo ako." Jeron smirked.

"Asa ka. I got this one." I answered.

I was actually winning. Nakasimangot na si Jeron. Until, the door sound open.

"Ma." I heard Jeric greet his mom.

"Oh, kamusta lakad nyo ni Erica." Tita Susan asked after Jeric kissed her.

"Ok naman po." Jeric answered.

"Pahinga ka na muna sa kwarto mo." Tita susgested.

'So he's not staying at the quarters pala.' I thought when I threw a 3 point shot, I missed.

"Uy!" Jeron laughed got the rebound and now on fast break.

Jeric looked at direction when he realized I'm here, I can see from my peripheral vision that his face drop.

Liar, liar pants on fire.

The game ended. I lost.

"Buti na lang. Kala ko kakanta na ko sa harap ng fan ko e." Jeron laughed.

"Dom, dito ka na mag dinner." Tita Susan invited.

"Hindi na po Tita. I just finished the game. I have to run an errand before I go home." I politely answered. "I should get going na po."

"O sige hija. Ingat ka." Tita said habang nag beso beso kami.

"Opo, Tita. Thank you po." I faced Jeron. "Bye Jeron. Thanks for inviting."

"No prob. Next time ulit?" Jeron asked.

"Sure." I answered.

"Yung pustahan natin ha." Jeron reminded me.

"Oo na." I laughed. "Lakad na po ako." Paalam ko.

I just grunt at Jeric when I walked passed him as I went towards the door.

"Dom." Jeric called when I also reached my car.

Di ko sya pinansin and continued walking.

"Can we talk?" He asked when he had catch up.

Now you want to talk? Screw you.

"Dom." He grabbed my arm and turned me to face him.

"What?" I asked irritated.

"I didn't mean for this to happen it's just..." He paused.

"You really don't have to explain anything." I answered and walk to my car.

"Dom." He followed me.

My car door was half open when Jeric pushed the door close. I was holding on it kaya medyo napasama ako sa pinto, lakas nito a.

"Could you make it fast?" I asked.

‘Because I don't know how long I can hold back my tears.’ I thought.

"Erica's a little jealous of you." He answered.

So it is because of his china doll. Why is she jealous about? As if I attempted to steal Jeric from her. It never crossed my mind even I love him so much. Because I know how happy he is, with her. Even it hurts like hell.

I scoff. Silence.

"So she had her lie to me, is that it?" I asked when I finally manage.

"She has nothing to do with my actions. All of those were my decision." He said softly.

I looked up to look into his eyes in disbelief.

"I just have to prioritize." He explained.

My lips trembled.

"So we were never going to be the same again right?" I asked gathering all the courage I had left.

Jeric nodded. And my heart breaks. I just lost my best friend.

"It doesn't mean I stopped caring about you." He said.

"You know what. You should have just stopped caring about me as well." I answered bitterly and climb inside my car without waiting for his reply. Why should I? As if he had something to say to make me feel better.

I speed off. I saw him still standing where I left him from my rear view mirror. I look at him for a moment. Then focused my eyes on the road and never looked back.

Of all people, I'm the one who should know best that Jeric Allen Uy Teng won't fall for a girl like me. I was almost the opposite of his dream girl. I'm impatient, hotheaded and reckless. Kahit na sinasarili ko lang 'tong nararamdaman ko para sakanya, that doesn't mean na I don't fantasize that one day he will feel the same way I feel for him. Who doesn't naman l diba? Lahat naman tayo gustong mahalin din ng mahal natin. Pero syempre, we want the best for our love ones. And in Jeric's case, Erica's the best for him. So I settled myself happily as his best friend.

But now, he's no longer my best friend anymore.

(Jeric's POV)

Jeron was sitting on the sofa when I arrived, waiting for me. I sat beside him.

"What's up?" Jeron asked.

"We had a fight." I answered.

"Why the long face? You always had a fight, pero nagkakabati din naman kayo agad."

"This time, I don't think we could fix it." I answered sadly.

"You sounded like you just broke up with your girlfriend." Jeron teased but I know he's trying to cheer me up.

"Well if I don't prioritize, I might be." I answered.

"Just be sure you prioritize what's really important to you." Jeron said, pat me on my good shoulder and left.
