The next morning...

Skye's POV

I woke up to a dreary and grey Saturday. I looked out my window at the neighbourhood not making any noise, except for the occasional car passing by.

I checked the time, 11:00 a.m.

Pretty late for me, considering the time I usually wake up on a weekend, which is at 9 a.m. or so.

I went to my mum's room to see if she made it in last night; I didn't hear her.

I peeked my head in her room. "Mum?"

"Hey sweetie." She said, whilist sitting up.

"I never heard you come in yesterday." I said.

"That's because you were asleep when I came." She said.

I only nodded. 

"I saw that boy who lives across the street yesterday. I didn't catch his name. He looked like he could be good for you." She said.

"Mum!" I snapped.

"What? I'm trying to help you!"

"I'm not exactly interested in boys at the moment." I muttered.

"Oh. Well, i'm just making a suggestion." She shrugged.

"Awfully weird suggestion." I muttered and went back to my room.

Just then, my phone beeped with a new text.

It was from Alex.

Alex - Hey, how was yesterday? Siva told me and Jay that you walked home with Nathan?

Me - Yeah..I did. It was fine.

Alex - Was he cute?

Me - ALEX!

Alex - What?! I'm only asking!

Me - Fine..yes he was cute.

Alex - Knew it!

Me - It seemed like Siva wasn't exactly on board with me and Nathan being friends...

Alex - How?

Me - Over-protective ring a bell?

Alex - You know by now that Siva can be like a dad sometimes.

Me - Well duh but he didn't just seem like a dad..he made it sound like Nathan was dangerous in some way.

Alex - Idk what that's about...i'll ask him.

Me - Thanks.

I sat my phone down. I looked out my window once again, and some sun was starting to break out in this dreary weather.

My phone beeped again, this time a text from Jay.

Jay - Hey

Me - Hey bird

Jay - What's going on between you and Nathan?

Me - Alex just asked me that same question.

Jay - And?

Me - Nothing is going on Jay...

Jay - Liar!
