Chapter 16 - Winter Dance

The next morning...

Skye's POV

I woke up this morning and checked the time. 7 a.m.

I feel a little better than yesterday. I still don't feel my best - not by a long shot - but I don't feel like the walking dead, either.

"Hey. Do you feel any better?" My mum poke her head in my room.

"Better. I think I feel good enough to go to school.." I nodded whilst sitting up.

"Okay, have a good day." She nodded and left for work.

I got out of bed and washed up. After I put on my clothes, I went downstairs to fix myself a cuppa.

As I fixed it and drank it, my phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Nathan.

Nathan - Morrrrrrnin!

Me - Morrrrning Nath!

Nathan - How are you feeling? :)

Me - Better..i'm going to come to school today.

Nathan - Nicely!

Me - Nicely?

Nathan - My own personal word.

Me - Mmm..so I see

Nathan - Well whats that supposed to mean?

Me - Whats what supposed to mean?

Nathan - "Mmm..so I see." Whats that mean?

Me - Nothing..

Nathan - You're an odd person, you know that right

Me - I'm actually well aware 

Nathan - I like that about you

Me - Usually people dont acknowledge my weirdness for something good

Nathan - Such arseholes

Me - I know!

Nathan - So i'll see you at school?

Me - Yep you will!

I sat my phone in my pocket and grabbed a jacket. I grabbed my bookbag and went to wait for the bus.

When I got on the bus, Alex, Siva and Jay were sitting in middle. Jay and Alex were sitting together and Siva sat alone. I went to sit by him.

"Hey sicky." Siva teased as I sat.

"Hey meanie." I pouted.

"I'm just kidding. How are you feeling?" He laughed.

"Better than yesterday." I replied.

"She refuses to admit that was in fact some cheek action between her and Nathan yesterday." Alex winked.

"Nothing happened! I swear!" I felt a rush of red go to my face.

"Look who's blushing!" Jay pointed.

"I was sick for god sake!" I laughed.

"It's okay. We know you wanna shag him." Siva patted my shoulder laughing.

I pushed him. "I do not!" 

"Oh come on, you know you wanna see how long it is!" Jay joined in on the taunting.

I just wanted everyone to shut up. People around us started giving us weird looks. "Shut up!" I laughed.

As we soon made it to the school, I ran off the bus to avoid everyone's taunting.
