Eric came into my room and my asshole uncle followed closely behind him. "Emily, it's been 12 days, the judge has agreed to forgo jail time for you and just keep you in this asylum, if you plead guilty. The evidence against you is strong you could be looking at the death penalty if you do not take the plea." Dan said scratching the back of his neck uncomfortably.
"I would rather die defending my innocence." I said gritting my teeth. "You were there at the crime scene." He huffed, "Because that's my home." I answered his unasked question. "You were the only one unharmed." "Maybe the killer is sick and twisted and wanted me to survive." "You had their blood all over you." "I f*cking held my dying family in my arms one last time." "The murder weapon was found in your possession." "I had heard a noise and grabbed the first knife I found." "It was clearly a crime of passion, over 20 stabs on each body." "I was set up. I love my family, I would never do a thing to harm them."
"They might take you out of this asylum and put you in jail." He said with twinge of what sounded like he cared about what would happen to me. "Let them." I said. "What I find so unfair is that you have been so focused on me that you're not even looking for clues that would implicate someone else."
My uncle Dan sighed, "Can't you take her out of all these cuffs." He asked Eric quietly. "I'll go ask Dr Davids." He said pushing himself off the wall leaving me with uncle Dan. "Emily please just take the plea deal." He begged coming closer to my bed.
"Get away from me, I didn't do it and I sure as hell won't take the plea when I know I'm innocent." I yelled. "I'll see what I can do." My uncle whispered before leaving the room.
Eric came back with some keys clinking against each other. He started unlocking my legs then he did it with both my arms. I grabbed both my wrists and massaged them.
I looked up at Eric and I pulled him down to the bed beside me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my head in the crook of his neck. At first he did nothing but then he hugged me back, "Thank you." I whispered.
"Dr Davids said that you could go shower then go to the cafeteria. After that he wants you to go see him." Eric said still holding on to my waist. "Okay thank you." I responded letting go of his neck. He cleared his throat and stood up, "I'll fetch you a change of clothes. You know where the showers are. After your meeting with Dr Davids meet me at the cafeteria."
