Chapter 4 - Save Me From This Mess

(LUCY'S POV)

"Get your filthy hands away from her!"

All turned their gaze towards the owner of the voice.

"Nat- oh . . . Sting?" my face turned down in slight disappointment. But at least someone came to help.

"Who're you?" yelled one of the drunkard.

"Now-now don't go stealing my spotlight. That's not polite," I heard another voice from the opposite direction.

This is when I felt real happiness in my heart.

"Natsu," I gave him a weak smile.

"Just in time, Natsu," Sting commented as they both were ready to attack.

"WHITE DRAGON ROAR!"

"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!"

They attacked from both sides as the 3 men decided to save their lives and run.

"Next time I see you even lurking around her, you're as good as dead!" I heard Natsu yell at the running men.

I could feel my eyes slightly teary, "What? No thank you, guess I shouldn't have saved you after all," Natsu smirked at me.

I ran up to him and jumped into a hug, as tears streamed down my eyes.

"N-atsu thank you, I w-as so scar-ed," I cried in his chest as he comforted me by gently waving his hand through my hair.

"Shhh, it's alright now. It's over," he smiled down at me.

"Lucy, why didn't you call on your spirits?" Sting asked as he walked up to us.

"I forgot my k-keys at my a-apartment."

"Thanks bro, for helping me out," Natsu shook Sting's hand while still holding on to me.

"No prob," Sting gave us his cute smile.

"Oh, what happened to your dress?" Natsu asked as his eyes landed on my torn sleeves and skirt.

"Those idiots tore it an- . . . DON'T STARE AT ME, YOU IDIOT!" I smacked him on the head as I turned around.

"Ouch, sorry," he said as brushed his hand on his head.

My face was completely heated up as I moved away from his grip, escaping from his arms that were around me. The cold wind breezed through Magnolia as I shivered from it. Suddenly I felt a warm piece of cloth on my back . . . His scarf.

"Here, feel better?" he smiled gently at me that I couldn't resist but blush.

"Let's get you home, what do ya say?" he asked for my permission as I nodded my head.

"Yes, take her home, I'll be on my way," with that Sting left as Natsu escorted me to my apartment.

Throughout the way I didn't say a word, I just couldn't get myself to do so.

LUCY'S APARTMENT

"Luce, you okay?" he asked me as he sat on my bed.

"Y-yeah fine."

"Who're you trying to fool? I know when there's something wrong with you, there's a reason I'm your best friend ya know," he said with a serious face. He's right actually.

"It's j-just that-" before I knew he was holding my both arms.

"Tell me, Luce," we stared into one other's eyes until I pulled away.
