"I have decided I ought to do something, something for her birthday. I know she hates things like that, gifts and whatnot. But we don't know her birthday, and she deserves to feel appreciated and spoiled once in a while. I've been saving up for some time, scrap change and whatever I have left over at the end of the month, I'm going to take her somewhere nice, get her something nice. I have no idea what just yet, something practical that she won't frown upon. Since we don't know her birth date, I have all the time in the world to figure it out, but I think sometime in November, after the shock of Halloween is gone. She hated it last year, but at least this year she will be more prepared for it.

She is not particularly fond of children in masks, so last year when they came to her work asking for candy, she wasn't quite sure what to do. Apparently she requested the day off this year, so that she can stay home where we both know kids won't show up at our door. Anyways, in regards to her birthday, or whatever day we sort of agree to. I want it to be a surprise, though."
