"I've decided not to tell Ophelia of my birthday; she already got me something for Valentine's day, I don't want her to begin to think that holidays and birthdays mean she has to spend time or money on me. Besides, at this point, my birthday means very little to me. I was a different person the last time I celebrated my birthday. So why bring up a past I don't identify with anymore? I've been reading the book Ophelia made me, catching up on everything Steve has been doing. He's challenged the world with what he can do, the team he has helped create. Every time I read about the Avengers, I can't help but think how well Ophelia would fit in. But not me.

Once I was prepared to save the world, but I destroyed it time after time as the Winter Soldier.

        I changed the century.

Well, Steve is doing that now. He always wanted that, to change the world for the greater good, to protect it. He never wanted to be a hero, but he got that title and he damn well deserves it."
