Destruction

I woke up the next morning and dragged myself to the restroom to brush my teeth and take a nice shower. I went upstairs and knocked on the door of Charlotte and Ella's room. Charlotte opened the door, she had some pearl silk pajamas and a white shirt. *Long yawn* "Morning." she had a sleepy tone in her voice. She stretched her arms and gave me a kiss while hugging me, "Morning sleepy head. Where's Ella." I asked while sitting on the bed.

"She's taking a shower, looks like you took one too." she said as she played with my still damp hair. She sat behind me wrapping her arms around my neck starting to fall asleep again, "Charlotte don't fall asleep." I said trying to wake her back up.

Ella came out of the shower drying her hair, "Morning Alex, are Tyler and Michael awake?"

"Michael started to wake up so probably." I said getting Charlotte's things. Tyler and Michael came in through the door and gave me the key to our hotel room, "We packed our things back in the car." Tyler said while giving Ella a kiss.

"You guys packed already?" I said in surprise. Charlotte went into the restroom and a few minutes later she came out with a ponytail with some blue jeans and a white blouse. "Let's go eat." she said as she carried out her things.

We drove for another few hours and stopped halfway at a Denny's restaurant, "Are you ready to order?" the waiter said.

"Yea I'll get a country fried steak." I said while pointing to the photo. "Would you like your eggs scrambled?"

"Yes please." After everyone got their food to the table everyone started eating. "Wow these pancakes are delicious." Michael said stuffing himself. Ella laughed, "You look like you've never eaten here."

Michael shook his head as he gulped down his milkshake, "No, well not in a while. Where I live there isn't one until the next town. So I haven't eaten here in years, plus Damien always had the car so I never had the chance to drive there."

"Forest fire in the southern forest." The news came one showing an overview of a forest with trees covered in flames. Charlotte tapped my shoulder, "Look at the news." she pointed at the t.v. showing firemen struggling to put out the fires. "Oh no." I said looking at the trees burn starting to fall and die."

"That's the forest where Damien and I train. This had to be his doing." Michael said finishing up his pancakes. Tyler got up and took out his wallet, "We gotta get going," he said as he put a five dollar bill on the table. 

I went to the front and paid for the food and everyone quickly went into the car and we kept driving. "Michael, why is Damien setting the forest on fire?" Michael leaned forward in his seat and said, "He's either trying to get our attention since he probably knows we're coming, or he's letting off some steam."

After a few extra hours of driving we can see the forest in the distance and the cloud of smoke filling the sky. We get to the entrance of the forest and see some street barriers covering the exit. "Sorry people, forest is being put out  right now, no one can get in."

I stick my head out looking at the police blocking the entrance, "We have a friend in there, we need to go in."

The police shook his head, "The firemen will take care of it." He stepped back continuing to control the traffic. "Dammit." I hit the wheel and back up and drive off. "What now?" Michael said staring at the fire in the distance.

I drove off a few miles and stopped at the border of the forest, "We're sneaking in through here." I open the car, me Tyler and Michael step out. "Hey Alex, we're going to go and ask people about this forest fire." Charlotte said as they started walking.
