Renesmee's POV
I push past dad and Jake "what are you talking about?" I ask Ian.
"We stopped at your apartment before we came here. Derek and a couple of my friends stayed behind for insurance" Ian says.
"I don't believe you" dad says
Ian sighs and reaches in his pocket, he takes something out and tosses it to me. I catch it when I open my hand I can't help the tears that well up in my eyes. Its mom's engagement ring I can hear Jake grinding his teeth. Dad takes the ring from me and closes his hand around it
"I'll go" I say to Ian.
"No!" daddy and Jake say at the same time
"I have too" I say to them.
"I don't have all day, either they let you go or everyone dies" Ian says looking at my arm. Daddy had grabbed it when I pushed past them.
"He's my dad he's just trying to protect me" I say to him.
"Well your daddy has a tough choice to make. It's either your wife or your daughter" he says looking at daddy
"You bastard!" Jake says. Ian's eyes flicker with anger, other than that he acts like he didn't hear Jake. "Again I don't have all day people" Ian says, I turn to daddy and pry his hand off my arm.
"Please you two have to let me go" I say.
"No" they say again at the same time
"Don't make me watch you die" I say a tear rolling down my face.
Jake wipes it away "Ness I can't" he says
"I want- I need you to let me go" I say looking him in the eyes.
I can see the struggle in his eyes between protecting me and giving me what I want. After a few minutes he pulls me close and crushes his lips to mine. The kiss is long and lingering when we pull apart a tear drops from his eye.
"It's not forever" I whisper he nods but I can tell he's not convinced. I sigh and turn to dad
"Daddy-"
"Renesmee I can't- I can't bear it" he says taking my hand.
"I know you're my dad and this is an impossible decision. So let me make it" I say to him.
He looks at mom's ring, I can tell he's struggling just like Jake was. I take both of their hands and show them what Ian said about the party. Jake's eyes lighten a little and dad stands up a little straighter. But I can tell that they'll still try to stop Ian
"Don't look" I say to them. "I'll see you soon" I say backing away from them, dad's eyes are already closed. Jake stares at me for a minute then turns around.
"Nicely done" Ian says suddenly behind me. I feel something prick me in the arm before I pass out.
