#36: How to; Find the best BB cream for your skin type!

BB creams. It seems like they are all thats raved and talked about in the beauty atmosphere lately. It's perfect for summer as most BB creams contain a SPF of atleast 15 and is a perfect substitute if you don't feel like wearing foundation or you don't want your foundation to melt all over your face. It will also be handy dandy for those who are experiencing cold weather now as BB creams hydrate your skin. And don't lie, everytone's skin gets all flakey, dry and gross in winter so it's okay! If your one of those lucky people that have perf skin all year around then amen to you sister!

What is a BB cream?

A BB cream basically stands for beauty balm (blemish balm in the asian beauty product world).

What are the benefits of a BB cream?

Most BB creams have the same benefits provided. Such as; SPF, non-clogging pore formulation, lightweight, reduces blemishes, evens out skin tone, leaves your skin as soft as an infants ass etc. (Benefits may vary from product to product depending on the type on skin it is for.)

What is the purpose of a BB cream?

BB creams were made to be a substite for your foundation/tinted moisturizer BUT instead of ruining your skin (usually the case if you have acne or sensitive skin) and clogging your pores this will help improve the appearance of your imperfections/acne whilst covering them up. So it's like across between a skin care product and a foundation/tinted moisturizer. Isn't that bloody awsome?

What is the difference between a BB cream for oily/combination skin and one for dry/normal skin?Any Suggestions?

Well, a BB cream for oily/combination skin will help manage shine/oil on your face. I would suggest trying the Maybelline Dream Fresh Pure BB Cream oil free (or whatever the heck the order is) as it contains 2% Salcylic Acid. This product basically improves the appearance of acne prone skin whilst giving you a lightweight medium coverage! This product is definetly buildable so say bye-bye to cakeface-ness and hello to fresh, flawless skin! And the best thing is that when you apply this BB cream, it feels as if your not wearing anything at all on your face. Or another suggestion is using the Garnier Miracle skin Perfector Oil Free BB Cream.

Secondly, if you have dry/normal skin using a BB cream will hydrate your face, also leaving you with a dewy appearance. When I say dewy I don't mean a-disco-ball-just-threw-up-on-your-face type of dewy, but more like a healthy glow. I would suggest using the Garnier/Maybelline BB creams for dry/normal skin.

Any high end alternatives?

If you prefer using more expensive high end beauty products rather than affordable drugstore ones, don't worry! Try using the MAC prep+prime Beauty Balm SPF 35 in humid weather. This product literally stays on your face throughout the whole entire day! It has medium coverage and leaves you with a semi-matte natural finish. (Matte=the opposite of dewy, so it's the finish that you get once you've powdered your face for example.

Another product you should try out the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Multi-Targeted BB cream. What is going on with these super duper long names? Anyways this product is probably the only BB cream with a high/medium coverage. It leaves your skin exactly how a foundation would, but this is better for your skin. It's really easy to apply.

Disclaimer: The products mentioned above are products that I've either tried and loved or ones that I've heard great feedback about. I'm not saying you have to use these products either, tell me your fave bb cream down below!
