I brushed my hair as I heard my door open, I knew it was either my mother or Tom "Tom?" I could see a dark figure but barely there "Hey, Starship we need to talk about our relationship" I felt his hand on my lap and I slowly move my hand down and look straight at him "What's wrong with it? You lost interest in me, or you don't want to be with a blind girl anymore?"

He sighs and I felt his hands move on my face "I just think we should just go our separate ways, but I'll still visit you and all and do all the fun things we did but on a friendly level" I grabbed his hands and moved them off me

"Get out, why would I want to stay friends with someone who doesn't see me as an equal?!" I yell back feeling the tears run down my face "Starship listen, I see you as an equal I just don't want to be romantically involved with you"

I shook my head keeping all of excuses from my head "No, get away from me, never come back or even try to talk or contact me!" I held my head low as I felt tears down my cheeks, everything was going way too fast all at once. As my heartbeat relaxed I heard him move off my bed and hear his heavy footsteps leave my room, once he was fully gone,

I slip on my shoes and found my walking cane and go for a walk, I need to think and breathe clearly, my boyfriend of two years broke up with me because of my condition or maybe he cheated on me with someone else?

Maybe that's why he left me.. "Star where are you going dear?" My mother said calling from the living room, but I kept my face forward I didn't want her to worry "For a walk, I'll be back" I left and just kept on the sidewalk, seeing the scenery looking fuzzy

"I knew he was going to leave me, I was just naive to believe it, all the things we did together, the fun things that made me feel better gone in a matter of seconds" as I stopped and rambled on I wasn't paying attention to the world around me

"Watch out!" As I turn to see where the voice came from I was hit in a matter of seconds, I felt someone heavier then me that was laying across my midsection, I groan a bit and rub my pounding head, this day couldn't get any worse?

"Oh man, I'm so sorry for hurting you, here take my hand to help you up" I went to reach for it as I did the hand felt bigger and warm almost calming "Didn't you see me?" I shook my head and then realized I didn't have my cane and I tapped my foot to feel it but I wasn't having luck

"No, as you can tell by my eyes, I'm blind and wasn't really responsive to the world around me" he nervously chuckles and held my hand while he was looking for my cane, I stood there holding the guys hang waiting for my cane

"Ah man I'm super sorry then, now I feel horrible for bumping into a blind girl, please forgive me" he placed my hand on my cane and I looked at the man well the fuzzy figure in front of me, I slowly reached as I  touched his chest and his arm to see if it was an older guy or a younger one

"It's okay, what's your name?" He chuckles a bit before responding "I'm Marco Diaz, the safe kid well I wasn't safe just now but you get it, also what's yours?" I smiled and giggled a bit "Star Butterfly, nice to meet you"

as I extended my hand for him to shake he accepted it "Same, I'm sorry for this situation..oh no" he sounded sad or concerned "What's wrong?" He sighs and opens my hand and I feel my necklace that Tom bought me, it was in pieces "I could buy you a new one" I shake my head "No, it's okay..but you know what you can do for me?" He stays quiet before answering "What can I do?" A smile appears on my face "You could hang out with me and be my friend? It's the least you can do for knocking me on the ground"

he laughs a bit and felt a hand on my shoulder "I would like that, Hey since we're going to be friends do you want to get ice-cream?" I nodded "Yes, that sounds good right now" I felt his arm link up with mine and I blushed a bit "This time, I'll hold onto you while we get there so you won't get hurt again" I giggled "Thanks Marco"

as we walked he told me what he does and do, he works part time at a pet store, he's attending a community college and goes there's when he isn't working, and his long distance relationship with a girl named Jackie, this guy had his future laid right in front of him and my future hasn't even begun well, maybe it has?
