June 2009 :

Dean drove his car towards Buffalo, exceeding the speed limit. As he cared at all. He didn't care either for shoving down an entire bottle of beer in a matter of seconds. He thought his father had an unknown weapon that could help them with the war they were being witnesses of. They didn't opened the gate on purpose, or at least, their purpose wasn't to release entire hell. But still, the only thing they could do now was accept the consequences and fight.

"Dean?" Sam asked his brother, closing their father's journal and staring at the empty road, that summer afternoon. His face showed how puzzled he felt after digging in the book.

"Huh?" Dean huffed, not even bothering to concentrate on his brother. There were times in which Sam wanted to talk about anything and Dean didn't wanted to listen. This was one of those times.

"Did you realized Dad's journal has a missing page?"

"Yes I did, remember? Adam?" Dean said, now this was getting annoying.

"This isn't the residuals of the same page, Dean."

Dean drove the car slowly towards the right side of the road. He looked at Sam thinking "what the hell is wrong with you now?"

"Show me" he asked and Sam opened the journal and pointed to the middle of it, the residuals of what seemed to be another page that, obviously was ripped off. Dean passed his fingertip in the middle of the pages.

"It was ripped off" Sam told Dean.

"No shit Captain duh" Dean said sarcastically, and tried to convince Sam maybe it was nothing, maybe, it was non-important stuff that John Winchester didn't wanted to leave behind, what for? He accelerated the car again and Sam knew very well he wasn't only convincing him, but trying to convince himself.

After hours, they finally arrived John's vault. Dean didn't found the keys at his pockets and cursed under his breath. Sam sighed, with a grin on his face, and took the keys from his own pockets, opened the door and opened his arms widely, inviting Dean to come on in, with a smile that annoyed Dean deeply.

They started to look for books or weapons that maybe could be helpful. They had enough knowledge and ways of destroying demons, but Dean wanted to be sure there weren't more. Sam was very careful, more than he normally was and Dean noticed how careful his brother was with each and every book or box they saw at the place. Sam's intrigued face at a book that barely had pages left, a desperate Dean:

"If you keep checking those like that, a demon could posses me right now, make me a horrible person, and take me away without you even noticing."

"You are already a horrible person, Dean" Sam chuckled and Dean imitated him sarcastically.

"You are still thinking about the missing page aren't you? Come on, maybe it wasn't important" Dean turned his back at Sam. Sam nodded and shook his head, then nodded and shook his hair. Finally, Sam found what he wanted. It had the same color and texture from John's pages and when Dean noticed he was kind of talking alone, he looked at Sam and stared at the paper on his hands. Instinctively, he ran towards Sam trying to take it off from his hand, but Sam moved and Dean fell over a shelf full of books. Sam smiled and continued reading the paper, he sat on an old chair he found. There was a picture, of a baby girl, with pink socks and a green blanket. It wasn't glued to the paper so after some "son of a bitch" from Dean, Sam handed the picture to him. Dean smiled at the baby: so cute, so small. At the back of the picture it read: 'July 18, 1996. Sam read the paper out loud and Dean sat on the floor in front of his brother, like a child waiting for his grandpa' to say a story about his past:

"July 18, 1996

-Delilah Winchester is born. She is the daughter of an affair I had, back at Chicago. I was hunting, and one night of drinks, I met Emily. We had some business going on at the motel room. She died while giving birth. I took her, left the boys with Bobby, and took a plane with the new-born and went to an Island at the Caribbean, near Cuba. It's name is Puerto Rico, funny how I found it, they even have north-American citizenship. I spent weeks there, until I met the Ortiz family, they gladly took her. We made illegal copies of an adoption certificate and tried to validate them as true. They changed the baby's name, Xiomara Ortiz, and I left and went to get the boys and talk with Bobby about it."
