"I can't believe you're being serious right now," I shook my head at Jermaine and sat down on the couch. "Is that how you flirt with girls now? Can't wait to make love to you?" I mimicked his text and he laughed.

"I haven't done anything with anyone in over 2 years. Just a kiss on the cheek, that's all I've received from a woman in these 2 years." I smiled at him and pushed him on the couch so he could sit next to me. "Jermaine," I started and made myself comfortable for this. "What are we gonna do now? Raina is my only friend and I don't want to lose her."

Jermaine shook his head and shrugged. "I don't know. She's nice, but wouldn't you rather have me? Besides, love always wins and if she's a true friend she would accept us two having a relationship."

"Y'all been talking for 5 months? Maybe even more! Hell, if I was Raina and she did that, I would be in jail by now for cutting a bitch." Jermaine laughed and shook his head. "Man, you psycho. That's another story,"

"Right," I licked my lips and scoffed. "Remember when you ran after the boy that asked for my number? You seriously ran after him for 15 minutes and I had to go around entire Fayetteville just to know where your ass was."

Jermaine laughed out loud and covered his eyes with the palm of his hand, shaking his head. "He deserved that. He damn well knew you was mine. That's straight up disrespectful, asking a girl's number when her man is just standing next to her."

"You was 15 back then. I wonder how crazy you would get if it happened now." He leaned in and pecked my lips.

"I would probably have killed a nigga." "For asking my number?" I laughed.

I stared down at my screen as I waited for the call to end. "Why you not picking up?" Jermaine frowned.

"I'm not in the mood to talk. Besides, it's my dad. I'm visiting him this afternoon."

Jermaine nodded and went back to watching tv. Lorenzo was sleeping on my lap and I couldn't help but feel bad for him. He's been home for too long. He's only 2 years old, he deserves to play more.

"Jermaine," I started. "Mmh." He answered, his eyes still glued on the basketball game.
"I feel dumb for asking." He immediately turned around to look at me. "What's up, baby? Ask." I looked down at Lorenzo and back at J. "Can you take Lorenzo and I out? Just today." That leaving my mouth, felt like a stab in my heart. Simply cause I know Jermaine is going to have to pay everything, although I hope he has enough.

I feel like a dumb, stupid, worthless mother. Will I even be able to pay for Lorenzo's school when it's time? I have to find a job.

Jermaine smiled and stood up. "Come on, let's go." He picked up Lorenzo slowly, he looked down at him and walked towards the bedroom. I couldn't help but start to get emotional, seeing my Jermaine and our baby.

Seeing that, felt like a sting in my heart. I just wanted to see that sight forever. A happy lil family.

I have to make things straight. I have to do something.
