Magnus sped over to the door, throwing it open wildly. Alec opened his eyes in surprise as the door swung open. Magnus smiled at him, breathing a little heavily. “Hey sweetie.” He breathed, grinning at the younger boy. Alec smiled back, “hi,” he said shyly. “Can I…come in?” Magnus stood aside, and let him in. Alec was still moving slowly and rather awkwardly, limping from his injury. “Is that getting better?” Magnus asked curiously. The last time he’d seen Alec, he’d been on crutches.

“Oh…yeah. I put the crutches back like two days ago. It’s still a bit awkward.” He admitted, sitting down slowly. “Thanks again for helping me. I’d…I’d be dead without you.” Magnus strode over to where the shadowhunter was sitting, and sat down next to him. “Well, you’re welcome.” He said, putting his arm around his shoulders, kissing him on the forehead. Alec blushed a little, and then gasped as a small cat bounced onto his lap, padding against his legs. Magnus noticed the surprise look on his face. “Oh I’m sorry, do you want me to take him off?” He asked. Alec shook his head,

“No, no, its fine. Church does this a lot. Usually it’s much more painful, though, now it’s just gentle padding.” He said, smiling. He began stroking the cat’s soft fur, pulling back the cats ears, stretching his face. The cat was purring loudly, dribbling a bit. “Sorry about the cat. He does that when he’s happy.” Magnus said, leaning over to scratch underneath the cat’s chin. Alec smiled,

“He’s great.” He commented, and from the happy purring coming from Chairman Meow, Magnus assumed the cat was thinking exactly the same thing as him.
