"You are the faint line between faith and blindly waiting."

-Rupi Kaur

"Am I talking to Miss Shah?" an unfamiliar formal voice reached her ears and the daze which was overpowering her senses vaporized and she pulled her body to sit.

"Yes," she replied as she turned her neck to look at the wall clock, the late morning hours were confirmed by it.

"Ma'am I am talking from Generics Incorporate," her breath hitched as her eyes went wide but she quickly composed herself, "this is to inform you that your appointment has been set for tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. sharp."

"O...okay thank you so much," Daniyah quickly replied and another second the call was ended, her phone was still clutched in her hands when a smile broke on her lips.

She was finally taking a step forward.

Getting up from the couch where she was lazily watching T.V few minutes ago she ran outside towards the lawn where Nausheen bibi was busy scolding the gardener.

"Amma," her squeal make her turn and smilingly she moved towards Daniyah.

"Masha Allah beti what is the occasion that you seem happy." She said as they both neared each other and Daniyah held bibi's arm while calming her disrupted heartbeat.

"Amma I need your dua, I have just got a call from one of the most important firm of the city! Please pray for me," Daniyah excitedly remarked and an unfamiliar fear engulfed bibi's heart but quickly composing herself before Daniyah could sense her tension, she adoringly patted her soft cheeks and showered her with multiple wishes.

Rest of Daniyah's day was spent in a rush from asking her brother to silently email her all her necessary documents to picking an impressive outfit for her interview, one minute she would be reloading the webpage and entering necessary details in the documents while another minute she was taking out matching accessories with her outfit. In the mid of chaos she bowed her head in gratitude multiple time throughout the day and by the time the sky turned dark, Daniyah was pacing in the room counting her every preparation on her fingertips for the next day.

A week of hard work was showing its result, a week had passed that his departure finally let her take a breath.

His staff was astonished to see him appear after a week of sudden disappearance, entire building was a chaos when Emaad Kirmani asked for all the reports. Today he decided to roam around his office and gather all the progress he had been missing on before taking another long break, he was confident of his employees but he couldn't risk anything either.

He was standing behind his desk with his phone pressed between his shoulder and ears and his eyes on the file in his hands when the door to his cabin opened and Nabeel walked in, in very casual attire.

"Mr. Paracha I'll get back to you in an hour." He ended the call and placed the device and file back on his large desk while Nabeel carelessly strolled towards the seat in front of his desk and took a place there.

"Coffee?" Emaad asked as he picked up the phone to order.

"Nahi, I'll take something cool today," Nabeel replied with his eyes roaming around the room, nodding Emaad placed the orders for both of them and took his place.

"So?" after several seconds of uncomfortable silence Emaad spoke up again and Nabeel looked up from his phone, carelessly pushing the device on the desk he moved forward with a boring expression across his face.

"I have got a news that Generics is hiring some new employees mainly female," Nabeel dully spoke and Emaad shook his head.

"And I should be interested, why?"

"Because it's Lehris we are talking about—"

"Behroze is a good friend of mine, Nabeel, if you are forgetting." Emaad shrugged and turned to his laptop.

"And the only competitor ready to take over the market." Nabeel shrugged and laid back on his seat, "Don't be furious later on."

"Nabeel, you are forgetting, it's impossible for anyone to take market from Kirmanis." Emaad smirked.

"Big boy, it isn't rocket science to turn impossible into I'm possible." Nabeel read expression on Emaad's face but before the latter could reply the knock on the door announcing the arrival of their beverages stopped their conversation.

She groaned as she snooze the alarm for umpteenth time, last night excitement was turning into exhaustion already. Lying on her bed she opened her eyes and a small smile adorned her face as she looked outside the glass doors leading to balcony, after fajr she purposely left the curtains open and now early morning glow was warming up her room and it was giving her a much needed tranquility. The next blare of the alarm disrupted the peaceful silence of the room and she got up.

Every passing minute Daniyah was forming enormous plans in her mind and in the midst of it she completely forgot about Emaad or purposely pushed him at the back of her mind, she wanted to not let anyone stop her from spreading her wings and with that passion she got ready for the day. Her straightened hair danced around her petite shoulders as she wore her pearl earrings, her makeup was at minimal and adorning a knee length kameez along with straight trousers she was a perfect example of simplicity and dignity.

Daniyah gave her appearance a last glance and then taking a deep breath she turned to wear her nude pumps and then picking her hand bag she came out of her room. The mantra of making a promising first impression made her confidently descended the stairs.

"Daniyah beti, your juice." Nausheen bibi came out of the kitchen as she heard the click of her heels on the elongated stairs.

"Oh thank you, Amma." Taking the glass she sat at the dining table and drank the fresh orange juice.

"Should I bring something to eat?" bibi adoringly asked but Daniyah shook her head, "May Allah bless you with success, beti." Bibi patted her head and Daniyah gave a small smile. The simple gesture filled her heart with love and she closed her eyes as she remembered how before she was used to dislike when someone would pat her head and that too when she was supposed to be leaving for something important. Standing she embraced bibi and asked for her prayers.

"Bibi, I'll leave now but we'll be having lunch together." Daniyah took bibi's hand in hers and then walked towards the main door; she had just turned the knob when the on-shift guard came towards her panting.

"Bibi jee this is for you." The middle-aged man handed her a bouquet of fresh white roses and Daniyah frowned.

"Who brought these?" Daniyah vaguely asked as her eyes spotted a small card between the flowers.

"It was TCS bibi," guard obediently answered but Daniyah could only nod as her eyes read the word and her whole body went frigid.

Best of luck for the day, bhabi jaan.
